I have been waiting for winter so I can start riding again. it has been too damn hot here. We are having a late summer, supposed to be near 100 again this week .



just went out to the desert with the scouts this last weekend to a place called Trona, middle of nowhere. They have a dry lakebed that mines salt and soda ash. Once a year they open it up to gem hunters to collect halite, the kids love it.

 

I haven't done any overnites lately, but I did travel across the country in my 79' VW Camper in May, and it was a blast. Just about from one end of the country to the other end. That is what prompted me to purchase my new Tacoma. I wanted a vehicle that I could tow a small trailer with and have a few more creature comforts. Now I'm looking around for that small trailer to go with the truck; but you know America everything is Large not many small trailer except for Pop-ups used anyway.

 

There is a whole industry dedicated to the small expedition trailer. I f I had the room or the money it would be a nice way to go.

So glad to hear that there is hope for me yet. I'm working on quitting rite now. SO far it's been a couple of weeks but still get cravings. But beginning to feel much better.

That'd be cool to have all your camping/bugout shit all packed up ready to go all in one place like that. Then I could have the bed for kayaks up top and bikes underneath.

 

Money, space, time and energy... thats all I need to make this happen!

 

The money is my main impass. Most of those trailers I see as useful to me were 10k and up. I could make the space for it.

 

If your into this stuff it looks like a setup that can be very efficient with space.

 

Hi folks, I've been reluctant to wade into the semi-senior pool, but here goes.
I turned 52 recently----I think it's 52, I forget.
I've been told the memory is the second thing to go---can't recall what the first is.
I'm getting stuff from AARP, I wish they'd stop that. God only knows I don't need to be reminded of my age---I have strange pains for that.

 

It's just a number.. your as young as you feel...

 

Yeah, don't sweat the number. There are 20 & 30 somethins fatter, in worse shape, bald & without the teenager libido I still got so it's all about how you live and feel as was stated. There are a few people 20-30 yrs my senior I've seen here and there on the net and TV that I hope to be like at that chronological point in my life.

 

My buddy and I were mountain biking, this older guy passes us on the uphill, we get to the top and find he is in his 70's, took up mt biking when he retired. While we are up there he pulls out a martini...lol, his reward up at the top.

 

Now THATS living!

I know about tha AARP Crap. That shit makes me feel old every time it comes in the mail.
Plus someone asked if i wanted to go on a 50 plus trip.

I told them the last time i saw one of those trips loading on a bus, every person had solid white hair and a walker.

My feel good number raises and falls with the jobs i get during the week.

Actually I've been feeling about 60 the last week as my potato bin and my left foot had a altercation at 2am. I LOST!!!!
The thing that really gets you is it takes three times as long to heal.
