using stock wiring

I am gonna install some Alpine component speakers with in-line cross-overs in my front doors and want to use the stock wiring. I emailed Crutchfield before buying the speaks and they assured me their harness would allow me to use stock wiring and not have to splice or run new speaker wires. Not correct. With the lines going to stock tweeter first, you lose signal to the woofer if you disconnect the tweet at its connecter.
My question is this: After the connector at the tweet, 2 red wires and two black wires fuse together and run to the tweeter terminals. Can i disconnect these from the tweeter terminals and run them instead to the woofer? Of course I would then run the in-line crossover from the woofer to the new tweeter. I was thinking if this would work, I could easily re-install the old tweeter and just solder the fused red and black wires back to the terminals if I ever want to return it to stock.
I have searched but found no definite answer concerning using stock wiring for new component speaks and I really don't want to run new wires. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks,

Easier just running new wires

 

I clipped the tweeter connector off and fed those as inputs into my comp set's crossover.

 

Did you clip before the connector? These Alpines have an in-line crossover so i assume clipping where you did and running to woofer which then connects to the tweeter thru the crossover should work. I am running a small Alpine Power pack amp that has relatively small speaker lines anyway so i just don't see the need to run seperate lines. Plus i mistakingly cut the speaker lines on the alpine amp very close to the connector at the amp and I don't want to screw with that mess again...Thus my need/want to use the factory lines in the door.

I don't understand why after the tweet connector there are 2 pos. and 2 neg. wires that join together before connecting to tweeter terminals

 

Alright, looking at a wiring diagram that I found on the forum somewhere, it appears all i need to do is disconnect wires at the stock tweeter and tape them off. The circuit will still be made because the 2 pos and neg are still joined after the connector. I should then be able to use the supplied wiring harness from Crutchfield to hook up the woofer and hook up the in-line cross over between the woofer and new tweeter and be good to go. Just have to make an adapter for the new tweeter to fit in stock location. If anyone finds anything wrong with this line of thinking, let me know.

 

Well, if anyone is interested(perhaps in the future) this is correct.

I replaced the stock speakers with some Boston Acoustics 6x9s and they did sound good. Thought I'd try some components, see which I liked better, and probably sell off the other set. You are right, the Alpines have a cap on the woofer and then a crossover in-line between the woof and tweet. Cross over is pretty bulky...don't know what all is in there. Haven't hooked Alpines up yet, I just cut wires to stock tweet to see if input still goes to woofer and it did. Hopefully I'll have time this weekend for the install.

 

Honestly, if you want good stereo get off the factory wires. Thin and crappy. Good luck.

 

Got the Alpines installed today.....sound really good to these 48 year old ears. These, along with the Pioneer AVH-P2400BT, Alpine Power-Pack amp, and the Sound Ordnance 8 powered sub blend very nicely together. I may run new wires to speaks someday, but I doubt it.
