    Hello TW,

I am having problems with my lifted 08 2.7 liter truck. I have a manual transmission and when I try to move from a stopped position going uphill in first gear, my truck makes a screeching sound like something is grinding or working too hard.

I am wondering if you guys have any experience with this and if it may be my clutch being strained too much moving my heavier tires/bumper/ect. Also, if it is the clutch, is this something that needs to be addressed soon. I have about 85,000 miles on my 08 tacoma with 33" tires/3" lift/allpro front bumper.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Get someone to stand outside and listen for where the noise is coming from while you start rolling from a stop. Could just be a U joint.

I will try that thanks. I just thought it could be the clutch going out.

    I have a '11 4x4 AC with a 3" lift & 33" tires with around 20K on it & no problems.
As for your clutch that depends a lot on the driver but yes getting a heavier truck moving will eat a clutch faster.
