Yea I bet just the Dakars to star then when you start adding the heavy shit all together(rear bumper, bed rack, RTT) then add the AAL. Just the Dakars though themselves will be great for you till you add the RTT and bed rack.

Nobody here runs the dakars, so I've never seen a set in person, but I agree with monte

I got the expos cause I stack 130+lb bags of coffee/mac nuts in the bed during season, and camping gear's some heavy shit

Always wanted a RTT, but I dont camp hard enough to justify it

once you know the love of full leaf pack flex, you'll never look back

full leaf packs are the suspension equivalent of the black phallus

It comes with the same warranty as if you buy in a store. You have to make sure that you register the product with the warranty program though. All the information comes on the warranty card and you just follow the directions. It's all online.

I disagree. You'll be disappointed with just the Dakars. Even with just a topper you'll be suprised how much they'll sag without the AAL. And as soon as you load up with camping gear you'll be hitting bumpstops on the trail. Ask me how I know. The Dakars have the same spring rate as the stock leaves so there is no increase in load capacity. better to use the AAL right from the start. Load capacity is good with that combo. I carry a fair amount of weight with mine, (topper, rearbumper/tire carrier, bed seats, bed platform with 20# CO2, Fridge, RTTsometimes, tools and gear and sometimes pulling my trailer too) and the Dakars with the AAL handle that fine.

    Good plan I think.

I had the same thought you did Monte. I thought i'd be fine with just the Dakars at first until I added bumpers and other stuff.

You can see the sag in this pic and this is before bumpers and other stuff. Granted I had my bedrack and RTT along with camping gear but it sagged pretty good. Prior to this trip it was worse, but in this pic I had added the 1.5" All Pro shackles to help keep me off the bumpstops.

Loaded even heavier here with more gear in the bed along with the weight of the topper and pulling the trailer. This is after the AAL. Even with all the weight it still sat pretty level.

That's impressive. Same story for me but with the wheelers 5 pack. AAL helped a ton with weight capacity.

But Ben isn't getting anything super heavy for a while..but not like the AAL is much more expensive anyways haha

totally get where you're coming from with Ben's setup, but I'm just talking from y own experience. My first camping trip with the dakars was stock bumpers and mostly lightweight camping gear for an overnight trip. Didn't have the RTT or anything. Big items were a cooler full of food/drinks and a couple bundles of firewood. I was seriously bugged when I was hitting my bumpstops on small bumps on the way to the campsite.

it doesn't take much weight to flex the dakars into negative arch. IMO AAL is a must with the Dakars. They should come that way.

Wow, can't believe they are that soft! That's crazy. And I doubt being a dbl cab has anything to do with it as well..

Well can't argue with that then.

I thought about it, but the tube bed won't mate up with the cab right if I do. I think I'm going to find myself some square steel tubing and build a support structure between the frame and cab.

    What to do...what to do?!

    bigger spacer? trim?
