true that, if i was the player i wouldnt want to play a more concentrated schedule, it's intense as it is. the games we missed are gone, now lets sign and move on.

 

If you were a player you would apparently be willing to give up millions to gain hundreds of thousands too

 

But the owners are greedy and the arenas need to make up the lost revnue as well.

There are always other players that will play if the current NHL players will not play. And the fans really do not matter to the owners.

You can bet that even if this goes on till the new year there will be a shortened season and a playoff season.

my statement was not considering money. I wouldn't want to tire myself out that much and risk injury or lose motivation from the grind.

the players aren't trying to gain hundreds of thousands, they're trying to avoid taking a ~12% pay cut. although, by not playing this season collectively the players will lose ~$1.65 billion while trying to avoid losing ~$231 million... doesn't make sense for anyone involved.

 

You will likely get your wish. The league will pull its offer after today. From here the offers will only get worse. I don't believe there will be hockey this year. I would be surprised if there is hockey this season.

Yep. How sad. If the players are so into this communist idea of revenue sharing, why don't they offer to do it too? If the richest teams can help finance the poorest teams, perhaps the richest players can help finance the poorest players. After all, what's a million bucks to a guy who already makes 7 per year...
