    I don't think that I'll need full grills... I'm guessing that by the way the FJ grill is built I may be able to just produce mesh inserts vs. building entire grills...
    This has several advantages over the current Tacoma setup I have now.

    So I had a few minutes earlier this week to toy around with this project...

    First step was to remove the inner surround from the outer. this was easily done by taking out 6 Philip Head screws and carefully unclipping it at a few spots:

    Now the next step was to get rid of the stock plastic "mesh" and still retain the mounting points and the guide pins on the inner piece:

    Next I want to clean up the edges which will allow for the placement of a new mesh insert:

    This is about as far as I got with the 15-20 min I had to mess with it. :eek:

    Got some down time while waiting on parts for the current satoshi batch so I thought I'd pay some attention to this project again...

    Spent about 10min finishing of the opening of this inner surround.
    Since i intend to have the mesh mount flush with the outermost part of that lip I did not fill in those holes leftover from cutting out the stock grill.
    Once the new insert is in you'll never see them anyway...

    Next move is to build a template for forming the mesh insert now that the surround is prepped.
