Yeah my dad saw a CL ad for a rc car and 2.4 tx. He went and looked at it, guy wanted $200 for the dx3r with sr3000 rx, and he had a modded losi mini 8ight with a box of extra parts and 3 lipos.

He bought it all for the $200 and sold me the dx3r for half, messed around with it, has a few more adjustments then my dx3s, ill be keeping both tx's as i do like the telementry of the dx3s.

I was gonna get a used dx3s for the same price but I ended up getting a brand new radiopost instead. I liked the feel of the spektrum in my hands but now I forgot about em haha

So I burned up my stock brushless motor in my traxxas slash.

I'm sure it's from a combination of things

Anyway. Any one recommend a good replacement ? Not really looking to change out the speed control. And something more 3cell friendly

    Thanks

Iv seen a ton of people got with a tacon 3650 series brushless and stay with the vxl3s esc, you may need to convert the esc to 4mm bullets, most motors come with 4mm as opposed ot the vxl esc which is 3.5mm.

For 3s, you are going to what to drop the kv down, so try to find a motor with less kv then the stock 3500 you had. A tacon 3650 11t or 12t would be a good choice and are ususlly around $25-$35 bucks.

Nice. Good to know , I was going to get a momba or novac 6700. But that sounds like a bad idea.

I was running stock gearing 13-34 But I keep burning up the slipper clutch so I put a centre diff in it and I think that was the final straw for the stock motor

13-34? stock should be 13-54, you can try dropping to a 11t or 12t pinion, will loose some top speed but it wont draw on the motor as much.. Im running the mmp 2400kv setup and i have only went through one slipper clutch in the 10months of having it, just keep it adjusted properly.

The slash is a good basher, its can be a good racer if you change almost eveyrthing but, IMO the price they bring selling them used, its better off having it as a basher.

    Yea that's what I ment 13-54

It's a great basher , We have a ruff track built with some plywood jumps And a "free style park ". And it does great. Just gets beat up alot , I've taken it to our local rc track a few times. But I get board doing the same laps over an over

Yeah, im not into the racing much, nearest track is a 45min-1hr drive and in my eyes not worth it. My slash is set up to be a good racer tho on 2s or 3s and it handles amazing, its not a basher anymore, got too much into it

I've got every rpm part they sell on it , Pro line shocks , (if I knew what I knew now I would have bought the platinum model ). I put on the sway bars. And centre diff and its night and day compared to stock

I'm doing an RC project for my engineering class. I've been watching a bunch of youtube videos and dying to get one. What do you guys think about this as a start? Don't have any clue on RCs so any input is much appreciated.

Nothing too crazy. The requirements are:just has to be for wheels and I have to program the car to run a track on its own.

Ditch the rpm arms and go with the proline protrac kit front and rear and it will another night and day difference . Im also running the powerstrokes, imo they are better then the traxxas big bores the platimum has.

I didn't know pro line made arms. I'll go to there set up. I'm sure it's more expensive. But handling is everything with them , I just tryed to set it up to be as tuff as posable.

Yeah there not cheap but it was the only way to make my slash controlable on high speed 3s runs or 4s runs. Handleing was a big improvement over rpm arms and the toughness are about the same.

Same one, more like, she wants me to take her back.. Been a few months and shes realizing how much I did for her.. I didnt kick her out, she left and not long after that i was hooking up with a ex just for fun, she kinda knows that and is jealous imo.. I have changed my views on alot, as long as she knows that i dont mind if she wants to move back, buying things like this is a good way to et back in tho, haha
