Installed my 5100s tonight and BRO LEAN!

So as the title says, I installed my 5100s today, and I've got some major bro lean! Set them at 1.75", I'm sure I have them on the right setting, hoping it levels out, gunna give it a few days, picture was taking immediately after lowering it down, oh and don't mind the mess, I work in a body shop and we have been busy hence the mess! By the way, didn't pay much attention to the alignment bolts when re-installing because I am heading to the tire shop for wheels/tires/alignment first thing in the morning but my steering wheel is like 4 inches off to the left!

What leaf pack do you have in the back? 3 or 4? If you have 3 I'd say maybe try the .85 setting? To be honest I'm not nearly qualified to say anything, just saying what I've read.

It's the 3, if it doesn't settle any I'll probably just get a block or aal of some sort, no reason to go down any! haha, just don't want to rock the bro lean.

 

you need an aal. they wont settle THAT much... but if you get an aal, youre going to want to set them at 2.5"

If he just let it down and the truck hasn't moved it will drop an inch it two when it moves...

Adding 1" blocks should do the trick.

well it better level out! I don't want to have to buy a progressive AAL, set the billy's at 2.5, then I'll wind up needing UCA's! I suppose this is why the billy's have 4 settings! haha I will be sad if I have to lower it back down! Is this why the credit card was invented?!

 

you wont NEED uca's.. i am still running the stock ones, and have 0 alignment issues. you also dont NEED a progressive AAL... you can get single leaf AAL's for like 70 bucks from wheelers.com IIRC....

 

Do not get blocks, figure out how much higher you need to go and get either the 1.5 inch aal or the 2 inch, I used Wheeler's off road, good customer service

 

You shouldn't have axle wrap with 1" blocks, anything over 1" is where you begin to run into problemss. For the amount of lift your wanting to get adding 1" blocks should be fine. I've been running Toytec 1" blocks w/tsb leafs for 25k, no sagging or axle wrap at all. Though lift block are not a ideal way to achieve lift they get the job done. If you do decide to use a aal get the progressive one's.

 

x2 on Wheelers 1.5" AAL. Think about it, 1.5" rear lift, 1.75" front. still brings the front up and level-ish. If you want just a little more up front I would advise the 1/4" top plate spacer rather than bump up to 2.5 on the shock, better ride and under 2.5 so stock UCA is doable. . .

 

When i had my 5100s at 1.75 i was dead level. maybe +/- an eighth of an inch. i agree a one inch block would do the trick

MY RC is almost level w/no AAL and .85. If you want to save money, just reset the 5100s down (or is that up??) a notch.

 

I dont think it looks too bad, I'd put it up to 2.5 and do an AAL... thats what I'm about to do to mine but mine sits level at 1.75

 

I am going to wait and see how it looks once I get my wheels/tires on and go from there. Dropped my truck off at 730am before work only to find out they "forgot to order the tires" made for a pretty sour attitude kind of day! So rescheduled for Monday. Ill post updated pics

 

Well got my tires on tonight, looks like I'm definately going to have to get either a block or AAL. Measured ground to flare and about an inch shorter in the rear. (too bad they don't make a 1" aal) Only had about an hour after I got it back so just got some crappy Iphone pics.
