    Bahh....
    American Top Gear sucks.

Take a successful BBC show and attempt to immediately replicate the chemistry between three hosts that we don't "know"... and who don't speak with those funny accents.

Then make EVERY show primarily about the destructive goofy shit, and maybe a few non-memorable test drives on performance cars.

I watched most of the 1st and 2nd seasons, and I honestly do not remember ONE serious test drive.
I remember they did the celebrity in a normal car thing out at the old El Toro airfield... but I don't recall any test drives on Supercars.

I did find it alright to watch, but its never the same without the English accents.

Yeah it is, I liked how they portrayed it as the "predator" of the show. Makes me wonder if that Chevy made it all the way back out, maybe all 3 of the stooges ended up in the Yota? Who knows

They only let the "american" trucks compete, Yota would have been on that glacier easy. I would have drove around on it to show up the chevy :D heh

Any show on our TV, that's any good, is a rehash of the BBC.

    Too many to list now.
I remember when they filmed that here. And I remember not even caring enough then to watch the episode. 17 seasons of top gear on the bbc and these guys come along and try to ruin it. The guys, Richard Hammond, jeremy Carlson, and James May know their stuff. These guys would get laughed out of Britain.

    Well....

The premise of the ATG stupid stunts is that the guys have to buy their vehicles for $500/$1000 or so... they often pick them up at auctions.

Try to find a Yota for $500/$1000 and you'll find a Yota that wouldn't have done much better than the domestics.

And for the record... Tanner Foust (the big guy) drives a Tundra 5.7.

    I disagree....

American Idol, Top Gear.... they all suck ass.

The only thing halfway decent that American TV has lifted from the BBC was Life on Mars.

They know their stuff, and they have a personal chemistry that's developed over 17 seasons.

I'd like to check out the first couple of seasons of the original and see if the chemistry was there, or if the guys were still getting to know each other.

And +1... each of the 3 guys is highly accomplished and respected in the performance auto industry. My wife even suggested that "The Stig" was actually Clarkson.

Friends/Coupling, Who's Line is It, Office, Are You Being Served? Tons more, just cause you don't know them, don't mean they suck ass. Although, the couple you mentioned do. Also, I didn't say they were all good (BBC shows).

She didn't notice the 12 inches of height difference? Captain Slo can't drive a peg up a goats ass. Yes, respected, mostly on his "drinking" shows.

Honestly, I don't see what people see in "The Office"
It's not funny in the slightest.
Friends was popular... yet I don't know anyone who watched it.

I like the office, top gear (bbc), southpark, and weeds, and kinda the walking dead. That's all I watch/ed. I don't ever watch TV though, just streaming internet.

If you don't like dwight, I don't know what to say to you!

Yeah, no one liked Friends, I can't for the life of me understand why it still reruns ten times a day, on multiple networks... The Office, I agree. But still hugely popular, and a BBC redo.

The thing with friends is it had some hot actresses that are still working.

Like I said... of the hundreds of people that I have interacted with over the last ??? years, I've never heard or overheard anyone talking about the show.
Doesn't mean they don't watch it, but it's not the topic of "watercooler chat"

    Funny.

Like Lemmy singing into the mic with his head straight up... he started doing that so he wouldn't see that Motorhead was performing for 20 people.
Ya... and Perry McCarthy was the original, "Black Stig"
