    ***SPECIAL WEATHER ALERT FROM EPAWA***

The European model came in, which confirms our worst fears we've had since this past Sunday. That model, which has been stubbornly consistent, now has support from all other models that ran today. EPAWA is now 100% ALL IN on a direct hit somewhere between Delmarva Peninsula and Long Island, NY. This will be a strong hurricane that will phase with an upper ... level low and trough and form a hybrid extra-tropical storm, capable of but not limited to:

*high winds sustained 40-60mph with higher gusts possible at the height inland, 60-80mph+ along the coastal areas... contributing to property, tree, and power line damage.
*flooding rainfall on the order of 6-12" in a 24-36 hour period.
*coastal flooding and storm surge for a landfalling tropical system combined with a full moon, which enhances the wave action even further.
*widespread power outages that can last for days if not weeks.
*massive beach erosion and damage, along with destruction to poorly constructed homes and businesses along shore points.
*similar effects as Hurricane Irene last year for inland residents, if not worse, including all of eastern PA New Jersey.

Someone here recommend me a shop or dealership with A+ quality work & good diagnostics. Mostly muffler/cat work. Time on getting the truck back isn't a factor. I'd rather have good work.

Delaware County, Chester County, Lancaster, Wilmington DE.... idc anywhere.

    Thank you.

My Problems - if you care to read further
My exhaust system has turned to dust from 2 years in North NY. Literally.. there are no bolts on my cat/pre-cat & I have an 8" hole in my muffler. I sprayed penetrating oil and torched the bolt dust / sections. Couldn't get them off. :(

Truck threw a CEL for P0136, but the resistance of both O2's is in spec. Response time could be off, but I didn't check & they don't have bolts for me to take them out.... They are rust welded real bad. No CEL on the MAFS, but it's definitely shorted. I got 11.9 ohms at room temperature with 3 different tests from the THA & E2 pins. It's supposed to be 2-3 kOhms. Spark plugs are white from an obvious lean condition. Checked the exhaust manifold, no cracks :) EGR valve might be stuck open/closed though. At first glance it only looks like the pipe is 1/2 blocked with buildup. I tried checking the pvc valve? but idk what to look for. I don't see a valve at all. There is just a tube connecting the valve cover near cylinder 4 to the throttle body & the tube has an oil coating, but that's it.

Also... anyone ever looked at the top of their cylinders from the sparkplug hole? Mine looked real brown / gunky. Used trucks :( I wanna run carb cleaner through the engine, but I know it'll kill my cats for sure. Wish I had enough knowledge or a friend to take out the cam / valves with me to check out the cylinders. But I'm scared of breaking the head gasket seals.

Greg, Take a look into Al's Auto in Trevose Pa. they are very close to the Bensalem Exit of the PA Turnpike north of Philly in Bucks.
They do a lot of stuff for me & are very reputable.

A bunch a cool stickers, a bada ass MetalMiller Tx Longhorns grill emblem painted Hemi Orange, JBA long tube headers with o2 sims, Diff breather mod, Red LED interior lights, Fancy head unit that plays ipod n movies, Also DIY install factory stuff like, factory cruise control, factory intermittent wipers, OME nitro struts with 886x springs and toy tec top plate, JBA high caster UCA's for better alignmnet and dey beefier too, Old Man Emu Dakar leaf springs in da rear with the gear, U bolt flipper, Ivan Stewart TRD rims with 33" K Bro 2's, some bad ass weather tech floor liners so I don't muck up my interior, an ATO shackle flipper for mo travel in da rear wit the gear, also super shiny Fox 2.0 shocks back there too, all sorts of steal armor for bouncing off of the rocks like demello sliders, AP front skid, trans skid, n transfer skid, demello gas tank skid, and a tough as nails ARB bumper with warn 8k winch, I'm sure there's more

Sounds like alot of the work can be done your self before you take it to a shop. Your best bet is to get all the exhaust work done before you mess with any thing more, like getting the muffler replaced or patched, and replace the bad exhaust fasteners with new, and whatever seals and gaskets for the flanges. You may have to cut and drill out the old fasteners. I've done it before, and it's a PITA. For your PCV valve(Positive Crankcase Ventilation), pull it out and shake it up and down. If it rattles, it's good. If not, get a new one. I belive the EGR works off of a vacuum diaphragm, just check all your vacuum hoses to see that they are good. For your O2 sensors, the CEL(Check Engine Light) may be due to leaks in the exhaust, but if they are close to 100k miles on them, they should be replaced, and sounds like you need to replace the spark plugs as well. Also, your engine is not carbuerated, so no carb cleaner in it unless you want to replace more sensors. You can clean the MAF with MAF sensor cleaner, just spray the hell out of it, don't touch it with anything at all. Then you can clean the intake tube and replace air filter as well. Also clean the Throttle Body with TB cleaner, there is a how to in the forum somewhere on that. It's pretty simple. As for the tops of the cylinder heads, just run some sea foam in the gas tank to clean out the fuel system. Then once you've gone through a tank or two of that, you can run sea foam through the intake per the instructions on the bottle to get that nice n clean. This should not hurt your cats at all if you do it right. You can also run some sea foam in your crankcase to clean it out, but I would recommend and oil change before and after doing this to be sure you have a good filter to catch all the crap. I love the Sea Foam, it's great stuff. I definitely would not want to open the heads up unless you have a blown gasket. Those cylinders are probably fine, just have some slight discoloration over the years of use. Let me know if ya need any help. Good luck.
