So I was supposed to go to Albequerque to get a female chocolate lab, put the deposit down and everything. Out of no where the lady flipped the switch on me and went completely bat shit crazy. So needless to say I told her to pack sand and send my deposit back.

I then contacted a few other breeders I had contacted previously and one guy in Albany Oregon had a double litter of puppies. One was his litter of silver & charcoal labs that were 9 weeks old and the other litter was a week old and his friends. His friends daughter was jsut diagnosed with childhood lukemia so he cant take care of the puppies. All the sales from both litters will go to helping pay the medical bills of the little girl. So he needs to move the dogs and is letting them go for a discounted price. His dogs have a strong fielding and hunting back ground.

So that being said, I left at 4am and jumped on a plane from Tucson to Portland , then drove down to Albany Or to select a puppy. I had my choice of a couple silver and charcoal pups but the boy below had the best shape and the strongest pray drive. Plus as soon as he came out he was all over me. I eventually picked him and and he started licking and nuzzling my beard. He instantly settled down and started moaning leaning into me as I held him. Once I put him down he followed me around and wanted attention from me all the time.

We are spending 2 days in Oregon before flying home to Tucson.

Please save your comments on the silver/charcoal not being "true" labs, I know all about the controversy behind it. He is a hunting dog, not a show ring dog.

Nala & Simba are great looking pups!

Now, on to the silver. The AKC might not recognize them but they're still labs and still great dogs. Take lots of pictures-they grow up quick. And congratulations on your new puppy!

Silvers are gorgeous, they are real labs too. I've only seen one once in my life but they are becoming more common. Very cute pup! Like the others said take pics! That lil fella will be fully grown in the blink of an eye. To me it seems like yesterday when I brought my little black lab female Stormy home, and now she's on the brink of turning 5 already.

For all of us pooch lovers, I highly recommend this movie.

I just finished watching it, rented it from a Redbox rental thing and am glad I did. It is really getting hard to find a good, genuine dog movie in this day and age. This movie made the top 10 list of my favorite movies and that takes a lot!

They normally ride in the back for safety, but I let him jump up front for a second as we pulled in the parking lot so he could see my daughter as we arrived.

Very nice! If anyone gives you crap, tell them to sit on it and twirl. All my life I wanted a lab. When it came time (about 3 years) ago, my wife and I decided to adopt. I got a lab mix (recently found out she's a Boxador - lab / boxer mix). Some people give me crap over it, but I wouldn't trade her for anything in the world. Best dog ever. Be happy with what you have, cause you're the only one who matters and in that dog's eyes, you are everything.
