    Hey Guys,

I was wondering, what should i get done when i am looking to get the water pump and timing belt done ?

Is there anything else that needs to be taken care of during this time ?

I jst hit 205,000 km on my tacoma and heard this needs to be fixed every 100,000 km, but i was wondering should i buy a timing belt kit or just the belt it self ?

Does anyone have links to good quality parts that i should look into ? or would any company that makes aftermarket parts do the job just as well ?

Any help regarding this will be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You

    Afraz

Assuming you have the V6, I suggest replacing the water pump, the timing belt, the front seal, camshaft seals, and the other two timing belt pulleys (tensioner and idler) that are behind the timing cover.

Are all these which you mentioned available as a package somewhere ? or do they have to be bought individually ?

When I do mine I buy a package that includes the timing belt and the 2 idler pulleys that ride on the timing belt maybe include something else I can't remember for sure but I think that's it. I have never changed out any of those seals as stated above and I've had no problems with the seals leaking.

Also go ahead and install a new water pump and if your other belts (fan, power steering, alternator, ac comp) are worn out go ahead and change those out while you have it apart.
