Wait for the absolute dead of winter or middle of summer. Anytime in between you will be seriously risking a life threatening situation due to crevasses. They can be under a few inches of snow and virtually invisible. Fall in and people may never find you. I've heard it's an incredible climb though. Definitely on my bucket list.

Yep

by then there will still be some crevasse danger, but many of the smaller ones that are more dangerous because they are harder to see will be covered over. The snow up north tends to come down heavier and with it being really moist the snow will usually get layers of ice that makes it safer to traverse across. On rainier you almost always want to be trained and ready for hidden crevasse. Many easy things to do that can save a life.

yea, they surprised me with those...i ordered a hat, but they were out of the white on white, so i got the flask instead and a bunch more stickers..the CO one has already made it on the back of the flask haha

That flask is the shit! Going to the ski/snowboard expo next weekend to pick up a helmet and some random small items.

 

Ill prolly make a trip down there. Prolly won't be in december though.

 

For sure training is great. The more people trained the better. When In doubt do compressions till EMS gets there. Compressions are the best thing anyone can do.
