Remove trans to remove engine???

    I have a tacoma shop manual and its tellin me I have to remove the trans in order to remove the engine. Is this true?

    False. You do not have to remove the tranny to remove the engine. It makes things ALOT easier to unbolt the tranny first, but you dont "have" to.

    You have to unbolt the bell housing which is bolted to the engine.

    Ok thanks guys I didn'know if there was a clearance issue I should be able to handle it from here just be on stand bye lol

    ive swapped my 4.0 out 4 times never once had to drop the tranny just the top bellhousing bolts can be a pain to get to at times thats when a cold beer an a lil timeout come into play
