This plug that is hanging down is underneath the steering wheel in the column. It doesn't plug into anything. It's on my truck that has no options and its on my father-in-law's truck which is SR5 TRD off road. I want to cut one of the metal connectors out of it to hook up my cruise control but just wanted to know what its for. The only thing I can figure is that they make one standard harness for a ton of different vehicles but not all the plugs are used in every vehicle. :notsure:

I dont think so. The OBD port is attached to the dash.....I think its for the Steering Angle Sensor....Its part of the CAN system.

Yea, when I took the bottom piece of plastic off underneath the steering wheel for the first time, it was just hanging there. And in my F-i-L's truck, which has all the steering controls for the radio and everything, his was the same way. My guess is its for another vehicle and instead of making different wiring harnesses, they just made a generic one for all types of vehicles.

Or it could be some type of test plug. I dunno.
