I'm on a barrier island and we have a mandatory evacuation tomorrow. I'm going to leave but just because of my truck. If I had a nice high and dry spot to park it I'd stay, especially after evacuating for nothing with Irene last August.

I pulled mine out on Thursday, my father inlaw has been nonstop pulling boats since yesterday morning.

Where you're at I would defiantly leave. I am not too far from you but I am not on the island so I am hanging out. :)

Im Central/South Jersey and ironically just stationed here as a weather forecaster for the Air Force. As of this morning we are still looking at 2-6 inches, winds gusting to 43/50 knots for this area, of course the flooding will be to lakes, rivers, and of course the shore. Sandy should be a tropical storm by the time she gets here rather a hurricane. Latest NHC track which is a compilation of the Euro and GFS models have her moving further west than previous model run. Again there's still a few scenarios for her movement, keep you guys posted. I went riding today (dirt bike) not too concerned, and the people round here didnt look to concerned either. Though I heard the shore people are going crazy.

:goingcrazy: There is a lot of people going crazy down here but not all, we already had some mandatory evacuations mostly on the barrier island, Cape May and some the small towns on the Delaware bay. Thanks for the update.:)

thanks for the update. what kind of dirtbike do you ride?

I spent my day installing a sump pump in my dad's basement. jack hammered the floor, dug out the dirt, put in a barrel and back filled with gravel, then topped off with cement, then plumbed pvc for the pump.

back is hurting from lugging buckets of concrete, dirt, and cement up and down the basement stairs all day..
