1 quart = 1/4th of a gallon. you should just get a couple more of the quart sized bottles. save the left over one for next time you do an oil change.

if for some reason you arent changing the filter, you will use less oil. i dont know exactly how much less, because i always change my filter when doing the oil.

When the oil is past the full line on the dipstick....

Just put 5 quarts in, turn the truck on and let it idle for 20 or 30 seconds, and turn it off. Check the oil level, and add tiny amounts of oil, and keep rechecking until it is at the full line, or slightly below.

No problem dude. When I did my oil a couple weeks ago, I only bought 5 quarts, so I had to "borrow" some oil from a buddy to finish the job. Pretty sure a few drops of synthetic mixed with 5 quarts of conventional will be fine though.

I just changed oil yesterday in my 2010 2.7L Taco. The owners manual says: Oil change with filter takes 6.1 quarts.

Owners manual is incorrect, says 6.1qts for capacity with oil filter change!
WRONG! Drain crankcase and change oil filter should only be 5.1qts.
