Only real viable option for a front locker is the ARB air locker

I only know of arb for the front. It's what I'm choosing.

Ya got me, I'm exploring the option. They're new to me but probably what I'll end up with with their better operation in cold climate (ak gets pretty cold). I'm going I give some folks a call tomorrow to find out for sure if they do make a front. Rear I know for sure, kinda just hoping for the front though.

There is a elocker option as I have been in contact with harrop engineering in Australia.. The cost is around 1400 for front and also the rear is available also.. They are not listed as Tacoma parts but instead for there version of the Tacoma.. This was for a 2013 Tacoma / helix v6 auto..

Harrop is the only front elocker. But as far as anyone knows it may not work because it hasnot been put in a tacoma. Yet i started a thread about it a few months back if you want search front ifs locker youll stumble on my thread and all details are there... There is a lot of bs chitchat but mixed in there, there is good info... On paper it will work, just need to be done is all.

Yea that's about were I'm at with it.. Looks good on paper and have been sending emails to them and cross referencing them on part # .. Everything looks good on both Toyota's side and harrops.. I have emails from them along with installations manuals for both front and rear elockers.. They lost me though when I was about to purchase and the cost was like 1450 aus. Each.....

ARB lockers and 4.88s front and rear, OME 886s, Dakars, etc., Safari Snorkel, 17"Fuel Revolvers w/ 35x12.50r17 KM2s, fenders cut 3" all around, Pioneer AVH-P4400BH w/ Backup cam, CB/PA (PA Installed), Weathertech Digis, Foglight anytime, AP: front bumper, skids, and pack rack, custom sliders, Warn 9.5XP, dual VIAIR 480Cs with a 2.5gal tank, OTRATTW switches galore, URD y-pipe, RCI skids, LF 240s, etc.
Would a detroit locker work up front? (Or do they even make one for IFS?) And if so, would it only engage when 4wd is active?

All in all looking at $3500 installed front diff only. I got Ecgs to install it did a fine job! :D

As per the Detroit locker im sure they make one, but dont think i would suggeat an auto locker for the front as it has a brain of its own. Uf it senses spin it will engage... Im not and auto locker fan myself but alot of people that are may chime in

They aren't that bad. I'm convinced most of the failures were from stock gear sets that were setup wrong from the factory. I'm running nitro gears and dual cases and have had no problems and I am not exactly easy on my truck :D
