My wife and I are riding out the storm here,

my wife keeps on talking shit, because to get ready for the storm i apparently try to act like bear grylls mixed with more guns, she'll never understand theirs more to it than food and water lol

My grandparents picked the WORST week to vacation in DC. I hope they're ok...they're pretty old these days, and they're by themselves.

 

How is it so far

 

You guts aint got shit..there predicting it will hit my county head on monday morning.

 

most of my moms side of the family was supposed to be leaving on a cruise tomorrow morning but they got a call earlier saying it was cancelled

 

Everyone be safe! We're supposed to get 6"+ of snow and winds 75-100 mph Monday/Tuesday according to our local weather channel yesterday. But they're so accurate, it might be 70 and sunny. Who knows.

Its gonna be somethin..wether we get hit head on or not were still gonna get hit. I need to stock up on beer

 

I actually just spoke to my grandmother on the phone...They're from SoCal, used to the mild weather we always have here. They're currently in Virginia visiting family.

She said it's just cloudy right now, and it doesn't look bad. She says nobody she's visited has warned her of anything, and they're not taking it too seriously. I kept insisting this isn't just a rain storm...and they they need to take cover for a while if possible. I told her there's going to be power outtages and a state of emergency. She said they have plans for the whole week, going out every night to visit friends and family...they're just so stubborn.

I'm an avid storm chaser and I'm studying meteorology in school...the way the numbers and models are looking, this is going to be a monster storm, nevermind the fact that it's colliding with a cold front from the west meaning it's going to sit over the northeast for a few days!

I pray for everybody out there...not much I can do from the left coast but wish you guys a safe few days. Update us as often as you can, but I can't imagine cell phones working once this thing hits, let alone the internet.

yea man all the meteorologist on tv/internet are making it out to be like it should be a pretty memorable storm. But idk where in va they are im the SE area of the state and its been a light rain since about 4, and imagine it to progressively get worse. the only thing thats kinda getting me is atleast were i am on the weather channels website we shouldnt see winds more than 35 mph, so im hopeful that it wont be to rough around here

 

Im at work while wife is home tonight...hopefully it holds off til i get home cuz she dont like storms

 

Just heard the weather man say "we've never seen a storm take a turn like this one"...you never want to hear the weatherman say that!

I'm located on the "bad" side of this mess on the coast. I expect to lose power for a while and to be working for a while after the storm.
Rigged up for a generator, but unfortunately i won't be home to run it.
