Spent the last few weeks shopping around a bunch of dealers in NY metro area for a '12 DBL CAB LB w/TRD & TOW. Cheapest offer I found was $30,900 until someone tipped me off to costco auto buying program. Their pre-set pricing came in at $30,500. Taxes in NY will kill me so ill be over $35k OTD.

I want a '13 DC TRD Sport 6speed with v6 tow pkg and no other extras.
My plan is to go to local dealers with $15k down and try to close on payments no more than $285-$295/month for 60 months.

When I bought mine last week I used Penfed's on-line car buying service and got .49% interest, There site reads 1.49% but they extended the .49% til the end of Oct. Worth checking it out.

If you only financed 19k, then why would you get or need gap insurance? Gap is only need when you owe more than the truck is worth.

In PA it is 7-8% (depending on county) after trade in and rebates.

In NC it is 3% after trade in.

In CA it is 8% on MSRP (sales price if bought used).

I just bought a used 2011 Tacoma DCSB TRD OR PreRunner in CA for $22,300 and had to pay almost $1800 in taxes. If I would of got in in my home state of PA or the last state I lived in (NC), i would of paid $0 in taxes because I had a $28000 trade in.

In most of PA it is only 6% unless you're in Philadelphia, which has a higher sales tax on everything including vehicles.
