did you lay down WITH Ali?? have to do it with 2 people. Both are gonna be PLENTY big for just you :p haha

did you compare prices with CVT??

I am still CVT bias a bit..just cause they seem to be a bit closer to you too..

Well it depends on your gear i think. You do have a plate rear bumper. No tire swing though. Are you planning on carrying more stuff for longer trips??

    You DD it a lot??

what weight do you carry on a day to day basis??

If you going to carry a lot all the time..id og expos. Plus Silas is going to sell his soon so im sure you could get a good deal from him.

If you want a good DD truck still and plan on taking the tent off a lot when not in use..id go Dakars/AAL

You sir..havn't had the luxury of sleeping in one :D they are awesome. I like them for the quickness of it and cofort. Gone are my days of looking for a nice flat spot to set up a tent. And i have a matress(soon a heated one :)) plus setting up and tear down for me is quick now that i don't have to use any poles at all. And its easy to do in the dark and cold and wind and rain and snow and..well..any time really. even if im in the middle of a trail.

    Love it :D

I can see where your coming from on that..if they aren't good at it or they are kinda hard to access..like on top of that SUV..it would take a bit of time. Changing rooms take a very long time to setup and take down. I don't hardly use mine cause of that. They are like setting up a normal tent..

Yep. Bobby is great. Plus he sent replacements to anyone that had shipping damage. Some people ended up with 4 tents!

Becarefull man..sometimes people take as "testing waters" for setting up. Thats what happened to me and my Slider GB

just don't dig yourself into a hole you can't get out. If you looking for a spring GB..i wouldn't even ASK till january..

That is good! Im sure Bobby would do the same. Like i told Steve lots of people have shipping damage from UPS using forklifts even though on the box it clearly states DO NOT USE FORKS! lol he ended up sending some up to 4 tents!

yep will be easy to find 10 people at a good discount between here ExpoP and Gitout.

Damn... I just got out a tape measure and checked out 48" for kicks. That is damn narrow. My wife's twin bed is almost 40" wide. It's doable but still. I was about 24" across, plus you have to take into account that the tents slope in a little at the sides.

I don't know where the fuck I would put that though... unless I got rid of the tool box, it would have to be on the roof or stupid high above the bed so I could still open the tool box.

You could mount it so it opend out towards the back. :notsure:

Have seen a 1st gen mounted like that with a tool box.

its all about the width IMO. Thats what was more important to me. with that i have a full sized sleeping bag and i can fit a full sized duffle bag at my feet easy, which will be important for winter camping.

and yes it'll be much better then the bed of the truck. I think you two should think of it as going from a twin..to a king sized. If you gonna make the step to a lovely RTT..why not make it super comfortable and not compromise? You already have been compromising..idk..just my logic..

but yes 1.5'' angle fits our bed rails the best. id use like 2.5 or 3'' then trim one side down to 1.5'' if i was going to make a rack that went up and over a shell.

also 1.5'' square tube is the max length to use for the RTT bolts.
