Not a lot... But then again, they've never been under a lot of weight either. If I were to guess, I'd say 1/4" -1/2 ". With your extra weight, I'm guessing you'd get more compression than mine... :notsure:

Thanks, man! Will paint with Rustoluem Bedliner once I get the tail light guards on there.... Thinking about just makinng them out of round tube since the angles are a bit tricky with square....

You have obviously never seen my truck up close! words like "smooth" and "clean" should not be used to describe my truck. lol :p There are a few unmolested sections.... but my paint has seen better days. :(

Speaking of that, I just just picked up some turtle wax rubbing compound for bad oxidation like mine... I never really cared about the paint until now, but I think I'd be a good idea to clean it up as best I can to get it ready for sale...... We'll see how it works.

Lookie what I found today.... :spy:

These 14" Fox 2.0 Pro Series shocks may be a bit overkill, but I couldn't pass up the $140 price tag and the excuse to re-do the rear suspension. I think I can make 'em fit just fine with out losing too much up-travel. It's actually good they have resi's since I don't have to worry about losing dampening properties at extreme angles....

Decided I'm going to put on the 63" chevy springs that have been sitting on the side of my house for half a year.... going to box the frame and make my own u-bolt flip "kit" as well. The all-pro expos are just waay to stiff for my hacked up rear end.... Speed bumps have become nightmares!!! lol

OOPS!! lol Started more than a few fires with my expert welding skills. :anonymous:

Going to tie this in with more bracing attached to the crossmember for the 14" shocks since I don't believe this is strong enough....

It looks like the tailgate and bumper are touching, but they've got about a 1/16th" of clearance! The liscense plate does touch though....

Cheated with bondo to fill in imperfections, then spray painted with Rustoleul Bedliner

Looks good bud! Looks like you welded the bumper to the frame? 3/8" mounts? What did you end up doing to support the side protection?

Yup, 3/8" mounts welded to the frame on 3 sides with 2 rosettes (or whatever they're called) per side. For side support, there is a brace on each side going from the very end of the bumper (where the rear fenders are) to the end of the 3/8" mount. (You can kinda see the one on the left side in the last picture I posted... ) Thinking about running a brace on each side from the middle of the 3/8" mounting plate to the corner of the bumper.... Not sure if it's needed though. :notsure:

Also, the original plan was to have some bedside and tail light protection... but I don't think I have the skills to make someting looks good out of box tube! lol I might have Cloudy Fab bend me some round tube for that, but we'll see.... I still migh attempt something.
