Quick question to anybody that bought a prerunner non TRD and kept the crappy dunlops. How many miles did you guys get out of them

My Prerunner had about 46k on them before I needed to change the dunflops. When they get down to the wear indicators, they have problem channeling water. Almost lost it a couple times due to hydroplaning.

Slid through an intersection in dusting of snow. So about 1200 before they were thrown away. I heard you can get 30,000 in dry desert conditions. Good luck.

I think it was around 46-48,000 miles driving primarily in Arizona. I replaced them with Michelin's and couldn't be happier.

I did slid around some on the stock wheels when it was wet and it seems I would spin a wheel when I accelerated while turning. Neither happens with the Michelins. I went with the widest possible tires that would fit the stock set up.

They were expensive but rated for 70,000 miles. I was close to reaching this point in another vehicle when it was totaled. Very quiet, smooth riding tires.

I've had no problems with mine. I've got about 27k mi. on mine and the darn things still look new. I'd love to replace them, but can't justify the extra money when these work. I've driven them in snow and rain, as well as gravel and rock. I've also driven across/through a creek a couple of times, and I've never thought that i was about to lose control. the one exception is when i had to slam the brakes in the snow at highway speed, but that would have happened with any tire.

I'm not saying they are a good tire, but i think people are eager to trash them. imo, i think people want a more aggressive looking tire, and they justify that purchase by saying that the stock street tire is worthless...

I think I got 40-50k out of my Dunlops before swapping them out with REVOs. They started showing wear and were losing traction on wet roads.

I remember multiple rainy instances where I was attempting to pull onto a main road from a side road. Instead of accelerating to fit in with traffic, I spun tires for 10 seconds and sat in the middle of the intersection. No matter how soft I was on the gas and clutch, I couldn't get them to hook up in the rain.

I switched to REVOs. Loved them. Never had traction problems again.

At 35k miles now, no wear bars showing, but close and I hate em. Mich LTX MS/2's going on this week. 3 years old on a SR5 PreRunner, about 60% highway, and I baby the truck. City driving 50% interstate.

Always been rear-end loose, as we say around here "in a heavy dew", and especially bad if really raining. Carry 100# sand in the winter.

I got the Dungflops stock on my 4x4 and have around 20K on them. Tread still looks good (except for the several chuncks missing from wheeling them before I got the KM2s that I put on now to go wheeling).

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I only had mine about 15k and upgraded to Wrangler Silentarmors, never looked back, sold the Dunflops for $300 on CL. They are a great road tire, but you get off the pavement and start hitting gravel roads and trails, they puncture quite easily. Not to mention are nearly worthless in the snow and especially on ice.

My 2012 4x4 Tacoma had Dunlops on it as new. The very first time I was off-road I had a rock puncture through the tread! I plugged it on the trail and drove them another month. I bought a set of Goodyear Dura-Trac tires and nice wheels which are much better off road. So now I have a set of stock wheels and tires with 1300 miles on them that I can use for, well not much unless I have a long road trip to go on and want to take the truck.
