Still alive. Last night was a wet one. Docks were about 2' from coming over the piles. This afternoons high tide could suck. Should be 1' higher, but I would guess it will be more and that could be a problem for me.

Stopped at marina at 12am last night....stayed until 2am mostly sleeping. Got home at 3 and just woke up. yeeee haaaaa

One of my idiot co workers called and asked if I was coming in to work. I politely said I was working from home today :der:

I keep picturing the view from Long Beach High School when we were working out there. Can't imagine what it's going to look like from the library overlooking that water.

    you to buddy...

I don't even want to think about how busy I will be this week at work.... between the windows that will leak and break + the current job sites getting destroyed this will be one hell of a money maker and loser for people.

lol. I got two emails last night within an hour of each other. The first said...

"We are opening at normal time and closing at 1 PM. Do not send any field workers out of North Jersey. If you can't make it in, notify someone in management."

The second one (within an hour) said...

"After re-evaluating the situation, we have decided to close. Be safe and stay dry."

The positive is that if we were open, I know the owners would have shown up.

Where I used to work, the owner would tell us that we were open and not to be late and then wouldn't show up and would say that he couldn't make it in. The sad part was I would pass his house to get there. Of course he didn't have a Tacoma. The same guy was also notorious for the day before a holiday telling me that I could cut out early, but that would be ten minutes before I would normally leave. Man, I don't know how I lasted there 9 years.

Yea I'm kinda glad I haven't closed on the house yet. Supposed to be tomorrow but we'll see about that. Just hoping a tree doesn't fall on it but atleast it would still be the sellers responsibility. A new roof would be kinda nice as long as it doesn't fuck too much stuff up

My boss is a coward. He didn't even pick up the phone once today or yesterday to call anyone. No one has heard from him. I bet the scum bag tries to dock our pay

Me and the other 2 PM's I work with called all our customers yesterday and canceled our jobs and also called all our men and told them not to come in.

The only person to go in today was our estimator and he lives 5 miles away.

You should take a real good look at that place before you put your name on that line. This is actually perfect for you.

Yea it's annoying because I'm so sick of waiting, but atleast it's not my responsibility yet. All the neighbors said my house is the only one on the block with a dry basement, but if its gonna flood, this will be the storm it seems.

Rather find out now before I build a halfpipe in the basement.. :D

Central-South Jersey (away from shore) expect sustained winds around 30-35kts and gusts up to 45-50kts, for our friends out at ACY and Cape May expect gusts up to 65-70kts upon landfall. Winds will persist till about 2-3am tonight and trend down through the morning. Main concerns will be flooding and wind damage as much of jersey's infastructure is not set up to handle 24hours of 40kt winds. Stay safe and keep dry.

That's the truth for sure. Our building codes suck for a high wind zone. I sell glass and architectural aluminum and just about none of it sold locally has a high wind rating and none of it is impact rated.

Speaking of that anyone in an old house worried about their windows should duct tape the hell out of them. If you see a small stamp in the corner that means it's tempered and 5 times stronger then not. this glass has no need for tape.

I saw a bunch of people in our town doing that last night and was wondering if it really works. Just you just answered my question since you're the glass-man.
