I use the noveske bipod mount for that rail on my 6.8. It just looks like a sling mount on a bolt action.

Which one did you go with? Hard to tell from that pic. Looks good though.

Any help/info would be appreciated. I was online checking reviews and only found one bad. The guy was complaining about the FOV saying he could see the inner workings. The owner as well as others responded saying it was normal to have a slight "shadow on the left side. All other post loved it

Personally never heard of them so can't comment on that optic directly but for the price I would suggest going with a tried and true optic that have tons I great reviews. Either the vortex sparc or a primary arms.

I'm building my AR from scratch. So far i have the following:

    -Lower w/ lower parts kit.
    -Buffer spring kit and buttstock
-M4 flat upper receiver w/ forward assist and ejection port cover
    -Rear sites

    will have the following soon:
    -front folding sites
    -charging handle
    -BCG

need help on barrels. Question is, can i just get a barrel and install it myself or do i need to take to a gunsmith? i have no gun tools. what else is needed besides the barrel (nuts bolts screws, etc?) im going for a similiar look as the following:

what is a legal length barrel in California?

To install a barrel you need a barrel, receiver, some way to mount the receiver in a vise without destroying it (usually a delrin fixture), a barrel nut of some type (may be a standard nut or a proprietary nut that comes with your handguard), a barrel nut wrench and preferrably a torque wrench.

Federal requirements for a rifle barrel is 16"+. I don't believe CA requires anything longer.

yup, 16+ is legal, and always have bullet button in CA or its felony possession of assault weapon. Do not mount anything to the lower without it.

16" from the bolt face. You don't always need a bullet button in ca. Only if you are going with the evil features. Such as a pistol grip.

i have a bullet button and i dont plan on removing it :)

so my best bet is to purchase a barrel and take it into a gunsmith so he can work on it since i dont have the tools.

Probably. But of you have a garage you probably need a vise and a torque wrench anyway. Add $75 in a fixture, barrel nut wrench, spanner wrench and a set of basic punches and you can work on your AR as much as you want.

Yes. I use a eberlestock just one for hunting. Look into their military line as the scabbard is bigger for an AR style rifle. My pack is specifically designed for hunting so easier to haul out meat and game but the scabbard is a tight fit for a scoped AR. Works fine but doesn't just slide in and out like their patrol packs which my buddy bought. Extremely well made. A little pricey but worth it.
