With everything that's going into the engine I hope to get the engine to 400 HP (which is the limit for stock internals), with that said warranty will disappear with what i need to get there haha

Do it you wont regret it! The torque after installed is amazing, I never installed it for racing but for the torque for pulling and even going on hill climbs makes it so much more easier.

not to question your intellect but i dont see you reaching 400hp on a TRD setup.

could you take time to explain your plans to reach 400hp?

automatics are stronger than the manuals but i still think it would fail before the engine.

Its going to get retuned lol just a TRD reflash wouldn't get you there even with extras

I don't mean 400 RWHP I mean 400 horsepower crank, so for now just getting a full exhaust set up (thorley headers, URD y-pipe, TRD exhaust, hope there's no wrasp -.-) then a smaller pulley (URD pulley) maybe down the line NST pulleys, TRD C.A.I

Hopefully once the UCON systems come out for 09+ I'll be close to that is what I'm hoping for but the closest dyno I've got to me is 4.5 hrs away lol

so roughly 330-350 whp is your goal...
NST no longer makes pullies for the 1gr (tacoma)
UCON is def a good product to get, Gadget told me that running catless on a ucon tune can net you an extra 40 hp.
if you get rasp get a magnaflow 14x9 oval center inlet center outlet muffler and weld in front of the TRD muffler

Yeah id be happy with somewhere between 330-350 whp
That sucks no more NST pulleys, just read it on the forum lol
That's good to know an extra 40 HP with the UCON, I didn't really know what gains I would get from it.
Yeah il have to see if I've got wrasp once I do get them on il have to look into it

Love the idea of supercharging the Tacoma! I have done bolt-ons and tuning with my STi, had no idea people were doing this with Tacoma's.

The STi can handle well over 600WHP on the 6speed transmission. The Crawford Racing STi in the Ken Block videos has the stock gearbox. I can't imagine the Tacoma being limited to 450HP, could be, I don't know. My biggest worry would be the truck running too lean. Does the kit come with ecu management?

It's funny, I just logged on to ask a SC question and this tread is already at the top...

I'm considering one with intentions of helping in the towing department. My camper is about 4000 - 4500#'s, which I know is well below the rated towing capacity of 5500#. But "rated" towing capacity is best-case scenario, and usually on flat ground. I struggle with long l, steady hills. It would be cheaper for me to have a SC installed than to buy a new tow rig.

My questions are this - does it improve torque significantly? (Just saw a comment on that - looks like it does) Second, I have a 2006 DC, 4.0 with 125K miles. I have maintained it well and only run premium fuel. Is there any danger of the SC damaging the engine, considering my mileage?

U would have to have it tuned through some kind of programmer. I would imagine with pulling that much more air then stock u would def lean out and ur truck would run like shit. There must be a base tune u upload or something

The truck won't run lean because when you buy the supercharger kit from Toyota it comes with bigger injectors for it doesn't cause that issue and also you have your ECU reflashed by the dealership

The truck isn't limited to 450HP depending on what mods you put into it haha
