Lock/Unlock Chirp very faint?????

    Wet Okole TRD seat covers, Extang Trifecta, TRD Exhaust cat back, TRD Front skid plate-for-looks. Michelin AT2 265-75-16 tires. WeatherTech front and rear
    So I was looking on the sight because I thought some how my lock/unlock chirp had been disabled. Even though I never messed with it. Found the way to disable/enable it. Well I went out to do it and found that it was working (chirping) but it was just very very faint! The only thing I have done to the truck is install a TRD exhaust in the past week. Any ideas out there?

    Are you still under warranty? Take it back to the dealer and tell them the chirp isn't working properly.

    Allow me to "chirp" in ... :cool: ... perhaps some debris is in the "chirper" ... this is what it looks like (I removed mine) ...

    Someone with an electrical background may tell you to check to see if a wire has a break in it ... I was a mechanical engineer so I'll leave the entire "resistance" thing up to them.

    ps ... sarcasm gets lost on some members ... ;)

    You do not have a chirping mechanism in your truck. I don't have one either.

    It will never chirp unless you install something (or an alarm).

    I actually went to a Toyota dealer to 'look' at the box and see where it connected. I don't think we have the wiring (from factory) to just buy one and hook it up. Or else I would've done it.

    It is part of the SR5 (in my case anyway) package for power locks which comes with remote key fob.

    mines an 08 SR5, but didn't come with that buzzer. I'm not sure if its suppose to be standard on an SR5 package. so I ran my own wires and installed a piezo buzzer from radioshack. I'm just looking to changing it up since the piezo is a little louder then the Denso

    I've got an 04 with the factory alarm and wish I could silence the chirp. The flashing lights are quite enough. There is no silence option according to the dealer's mech.
