Bilstein 5100's with SAW coils, AllPro UCAs, NW offroad rear springs (garbage), 4.88s and front and rear lockrights. Lots of custom sheetmetal work.
    The Eibach coils from Toytec will not work for me. Unless I use some sort of poly perch on the bottom.

    Hey guys,

    Im thinking of looking for a summer car/truck to drive to Oklahoma this summer so i dont put alot of miles on my truck. Anyone got an ideas for a fun rig that would get good mileage. Ive been looking for like a s-runner/x-runner or a lil diesel like a GTI or something. any ideas?

    I wonder if they sell the ULK Coil separately. If you look at it closely, it looks flat on the bottom perch

    I am not certain of this part but I think the ID of the last couple of toytec coils get smaller to fit on the 5100/stock perch. Where the ID of the SAW coils is the same top to bottom.

    This ^^^ is an excellent point.

    Mark, take a close look at the pic on this toytec product page. Sure looks to me like those ends are machined flat. Might be worth talking with them to see if they sell just the coils.

    Those look like they would work. That collar they sell has a flat surface. I will call them tomorrow. Mike... Zach told me he may be able to get some for cheap right from Eibach. I'll see if Toytech can give me the Eibach part number.

    the way to read eibach PT#s is pretty easy. you have a 14" spring 2.5" ID x650# Coil.

    Thanks for the link. I will pull them both out this Saturday afternoon, that way I can get all the measurements I need. I'm not actually sure how or why it broke. They are 10 years old and I have wheeled the shit out of them. I will post some pics after I get them out.

    You have to be careful in this neck of the woods. Muggingsoccur all the time. Your wallet is safe but we have been known to steal most ofthe air out of the tires of those who stop to survey a situation. You want to keep your air itmay be best not to stop for very long. lol :D

    That changes depending upon what tires I am running and the conditions. For summer "take the bumps out" setting, I will run at about 11 or 12 pounds on my current tires. On my last set of tires, which were softer, I would go to about 15-18 for summer trails. In the snow, I will often end up at 6 to 8 pounds for most running but have been know to run 3-4 pounds in particularly deep (non-powdery) snow. I will only run that low if I will be exclusively on snow and moving quite slow. I was at 6 pounds on Sunday as were most of my cohorts with the exception of the older Yota which was running at 3 pounds as he commonly does. However, he has beadlocks on that Toy.

    I have not nor have those I commonly run with like the guys who joined in this weekend. I have seen a few beads blown but by people running low air and lacking self control. At 3-4 pounds I am generally moving really slow on top of a good bit of snow. At 15 pounds I will run 25mph without much concern in most any conditions. You also have to remember that the larger the tire, the less air you can get away with. I can't explain why that is but it is true. So your smaller tires may not do so well at those really low pressures. Lisa's seemed to do great at 8 pounds. I would not have wanted Lisa's any lower unless we were on deeper snow.
