Hurricane Sandy "frankenstorm"

It's been coming in waves here all day. Haven't lost power, cable, or internet and no damage to the house so far. The wife and kids are sleeping in the basement just in case one of the big trees out back decides to come down.

lol! For some reason I can just picture you sitting in your computer room.. TW in one hand, shotty in the other while crazy storm shit happens outside..

 

Yeah, I'll e joining them soon. I took the dog out earlier during a lull. It whipped back up while we were out. Almost got hit by a flying tree branch. Dog looked at me with a "fuck this shit" look on her face. LOL!

If its not too late park your trucks on a freeway interchange. That's what we do down here when the water comes up. They are usually pretty sturdy

Lots of wind and rain, but not too bad here. Irene did much worse here, but it pushed water up the Chesapeake bay. A few neighbors had flooded basements and it looks like power is out in the neighborhood across the street from me. Other than that, we were lucky here.

 

Lost power 3-4 times last night, but it's on now. We have 5-600 k without power here in ct.
Pretty eerie last night, wind gusts over 70mph and all you can hear is trees snapping and crashing.
I'm a couple miles inland and I don't know how bad the surge was at the beach.
Only good thing(if any) was the storm sped up to 18mph and got about an hour ahead of the tide cycle in the Sound.
Hope my boat marina is still there, but somehow, I doubt it. There was still a couple hundred boats in the water the other day.
Now, I wait for a call, and It's storm restoration for the next several weeks.
Hope those here that were in the path made out OK.

 

read that 13 are reported dead! thoughts and prays going to everyone in the north east. i know some of my family are out of school (yesterday or today, or both)and they are over close to buffalo/boston/Batavia ny.

 

Well Thank God the storm was all hype in my area. Just amazing how bad the forecast was. Prayers go out to those that were impacted and man what a mess in NY unless the media is making that out to be worse than what it is.

 

Honestly-Sticking your head out a car window ain't such a great choice either....Someone flicks a butt out the window or some road debris and all of the sudden could be blind.
