Yep. While here we still go to school with 3+ ft of snow. Things pretty much never shut down here for snow, maybe slow a little, but not shut down.

Meanwhile if we got told a hurricane was coming we would probably flip. Although if a hurricane made it this far inland, there probably wouldn't be much left of WA and OR:rolleyes: haha

I have to imagine that salt water on all the electrical cannot be a good thing.

Nah, we get water, gas for the generators, and booze. Lots and lots of booze. Then once the storm's passed we go wakeboard in the flooded streets

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
Happens ever time they predict a substantial snow fall here.

yep they do here. and school closes with 1” maybe less of snow. but i think it’s good, because people her don’t think to slow down when their is snow or chance of black ice. if a back road is 35 they will steel try and do 40. heck most don’t think to even slow down when it rain.

I'm not saying this storm is the end all be all of storms, but you people are cracking me up. Maybe think a little before you guys poo crap out of your mouths.

You do know the NE is the most densely populated area in the country right?

You do know this is the strongest storm to have ever hit us like this right?

I hope you can also sink into your skulls our building codes are much different then Alaska's, Oregon, or New Orleans. Nothing here is engineered for this kind of storm with flood waters this high.

But after all I guess a record breaking storm in the NE is just child's play

Next time Ill ask god to send us some tidal waves, 20' of snow, a couple thousand dead, and 50' of flooding so we can be cool

There's no point in having milk/eggs if the power goes out. For Isaac I got water, pop-tarts, and made a bunch of red beans and rice before the storm. Used the Yeti to keep what milk/sandwich meat, and beer I had cold.

It's not worth having a pissing contest either way. So how about everyone takes the butthurt and bottles it up inside and posts some more photos instead of trying to prove that they have the worst storm evar...

I can't speak for the others but I get it, I know how bad and serious it is. The Northeast is in no way prepared for a storm even half the magnitude of this.

Each region is prepared for their specific weather events. Just like we would be completely unprepared if 9" of snow decided to fall here next week.

    .
Well said Mark. One of the things I really like about the TW community is that we band together and selflessly help our fellow members in need. Chris's brother is a prime example of that. When he lost everything in that house fire, members stepped up to the plate a helped him, his wife and Fred their dog out in a big way. Scott is going to need help, he's not on here because he got wiped out. This is reality folks, it's a big deal and a serious situation for a lot of people this morning. I fully expect the TW community to step up and lend a hand here. It's not over by a long shot and in some areas it's likely to get worse before it gets better. Be supportive, be understanding.
