what is the difference between stock ucas and after market ones the size of the ball or the design ? because when i was taking off my stock ones i ripped the boot and i never knew the stock uca internals looked so similar

 

I'm assuming you're talking about stock length UCA's and not long travel length UCA's.

Most aftermarket UCA's have uniballs instead of the ball joint. The advantage here is better performance at extreme angles, and theres no boot to rip or grease. They are usually coated with some teflon from the factory.

And the reason I went with aftermarket UCA's is the stronger tubular design. The stock ones are just some sheet metal that is folded into a half-circle shape. Tubular arms can withstand more force and are less likely to bend and break if you hit something hard enough. Aftermarket UCA's also have higher quality greasable bushings.

yea i was just wondering i put the all pros on my truck today and i ripped the boot with the forks to get the bolt out and saw the ball joint and and was just wondering the difference except for the strength factor

 

Hows the "squeak" with going uni-ball UCA's?

Apparently, the All Pros are notorious for being the loudest UCA's.

 

Ya one reason why I haven't made the switch yet. Probably cant hear it while in the cab but I'm not sure.

Mine only squeak after I pressure wash my truck and directly spray water on the balls and its a pretty horrendous squeak. Then I just put a little triflow on them and squeak is instantly gone

 

i drove around for about an hour and no squeak even off road. and if they do ill the grease the mothers

 

I noticed my bushings are cracked. I need to get it replaced with the new bushings. SPC should give free replacement bushings for customers who have the earlier model arms. My arms only have 15k on them when I noticed the cracks. Should've spent the extra money for the Total Chaos and not have to deal with this.

 

well i ride with the windows down and nothing some yamaha grease cant fix

 

yea idk if they start fing up ill just use that as an excuse for lt setup

yea i use yamaha lube for everything because its the best i could find + its made to stand up to salt water everyday on boats so freshwaters like nothing

 

Any lube that has Teflon in it will work. Otherwise u will dry out the bushings very fast
