Called my friends and family living around Atlantic City, NJ and along the east coast. Everyone is ok. Worst damage reported so far was overturned flower pot. Most above mentioned people live 30 minutes from the shore on uplands.

On a side note and I apologize if my comment is offensive to anyone.

Why... is it... that thousands of otherwise healthy looking people have to be rescued from water conditions when water is between ankle high and waist deep. Just yesterday I saw a strong brave cop on tv carry an elderly couple across his shoulder. Err... what is wrong with walking in waist deep water? I honestly think that emergency crews should be tasked to help save hospital patients, people with serious health conditions but not to abled adults who are "trapped" in 1ft water. What happened to rolling up your pants and walking... ?

Now hurricane Katrina... I can seee... water was 2 stories deep even weeks afterwards.

Am I a bad person for pointing out that little fact? What happened to self reliance?

Walking in waste deep water in a pool is vastly different from walking in waist deep tidal surge. You also don't know what you might encounter once you leave the safety of your house. You are also seeing only part of the story when you watch the news clips.
That being said..Lots of folks could/should have evacuated well before they did and by dong that they would not have put first responders in danger.

Had one of the rig hands out here on the rig in my office yesterday on the phone for about 3 hours just trying to find a way home. I felt horrible for him. He kept telling the lady on the phone, "I haven't been able to contact my wife, I have a newborn son, my house is flooded and my car is under a tree...please, I need to get home". He probably said that 14 times. Finally they found him a way home. Kid was in tears worrying. I pray all my fellow TW members are safe and I've been praying for everyone in general. God Bless.

Anyone see those power lines dancing around and hit a car? It was on the news. Also a one death in Canada after a lady went to staples to get batteries and the staples sign blew off and killed her. Rip

My prayers go out to those that have lost their homes, businesses, vehicles and loved ones.

I do have to lighten things up a little with a laugh at this dumb guy.

Finally got in touch with my family in CT. They are all ok but have no electric and their huge oak tree blew over on top of their house. They had to cut another tree out of the road so they could get to somewhere safe since their house is basically gone.
