Broken Windshield!

This is the weirdest thing that has ever happened.

I was cleaning off my windshield to get all of the dirt/mud off. When I pulled up my pass. wiper the blade flipped over and the wiper arm hit the bottom of the windshield DEAD ON.

So now I have this 4-5 inch crack in my windshield.

 

damn...........thats some weak glass right there!!!

Well it hit the glass where the knuckle of the wiper arm and the connector of the wiper blade snap together.

Hopefully our insurance will pay for that.

 

hope so man....cause windshields aint cheap.

youre right they arent. $500-800 of glass.

My grandma had to replace her WS on her Lexus.... Cost her $1,000

 

Just have it repaired. They can seal it up and stop the spreading. I've had it done. In fact, the crack is still on my windshield.

 

How much was it?

 

yeah, ive got a crack from east to west on the windshield of my X-Runner and they told me it would cost about 850.00

 

I paid $80 for the crack and for a chip on the glass.

 

Check into having it repaired before you have it replaced. I have had several windshields replaced in my near forty years of driving all have leaked air, water or both. Now, if I have damage I have the windshield repaired.

how did that happen?

 

I went in to get a quote on my winsheild here in Edmonton and I was told 190 to get a new one installed! I thought that was pretty good compared to some vehichles i have had. I am just waiting for them to clean the streets a little better so it doesn't happen again!

 

A rock about the size of a pea hit it

 

Must be a sharp wiper blade. My rule of thumb is that I never replace the glass until it is absolutely necessary... Never fails that I'll go for years and years without a chip, but as soon as I have a new windshield I'll have a crack within a month. My '09 lasted one month and three days.

dang you must be rough on your Windshields
