that's the thing....when you valve, you make your suspension performance optimum through a certain terrain and driving style. However, you're not always wheeling in the same shit, so if you valve your coilovers for Ocotillo at a speed you like to go, then you go to Barstow or Glamis, and it rides all shit, what are you going to do? Revalve the coilovers at camp? Or do you turn a knob? Choice is yours.

Joke's on my, my suspension was valved better with my 8" King Coilovers from Engage than the past two trips with my 12" Race Series triples. it's going to take me at least 3 or 4 more trips before I get the valving down.

First trip out it was way too stiff (it was a double stacked .020 shims), almost insane. We then took some shims out, took out the rate plate, and ran it in glamis, and it was way too soft. Now is the fun part of putting some back in, etc.

no, we decided to run the same valving in the coil over and bypass so they are both doing the same amount of work, and im not over working or over heating one set of shocks.

Wouldn't the bypasses alleviate a lot of the work done by the secondary (unless they are all the way shut)?

yes, but running equal valving in both the coilover and the bypass to achieve a level of dampening vs running all the valving in the bypass and nothing in the coilover to achieve the same degree of dampening divides the work better amongst the two shocks, letting you truly take advantage of the extra oil you use with running secondaries.

Yeah I absolutely agree, run valving in both. Just figured you would run lighter in the coilover.

In hindsight...it was a stupid question for you with the 3" Pure Race bypasses.

you are correct pops...been told by a few tuners and fox to run the c/o slightly lighter then the bypass...that way u get more tunability from the bypass tubes but still get the benefits from the extra oil
