There are several ARB, TJM, and Ironman 4x4 bumpers where this is common.

No Problem, Thanks to ARB for helping me out and getting us the pics.

I sent an e-mail to ARB's Tech Manager... I just got this e-mail from him, as he was the one working on the white Tacoma I posted the pic of:

That's gonna suck because you won't be able to re sell your stock bumper or put it back on if you ever want to or need to, you guys with 12's should check out the pelfreybuilt bumpers over in the 2nd gen market place, they look so bad ass and rugged, and for an amazing price, I'd get one if I had a 12

That part sucks in that I was gonna sell mine to a local body shop. It wouldn't be much, but would help offset the cost of the upgrade a bit.

On the plus side, you don't have to sweat movement of the bumper screwing up the fenders/lights/grill and fitment should be easier.

I'll have to see if I can get an used or slightly damaged stock bumper to use as the sacrificial one if I choose the ARB.

ARB has a good reputation, and overall, I like the design. The cutting thing adds a wrinkle I hadn't expected, though.

Well that's lame you have to ruin a good bumper to make this look good.

Typically they are in the 105lb range... since they are not here yet I do not have an exact figure.

Does Sortafit (Certifit) have a replacement bumper cover available for the 2012-2013 models available yet? I fixed my GF's sister's Civic with one when she ripped her stock one off. It would let you cut the bumper, and the black plastic would blend better with the black ARB.

I am interested in seeing more angles, as I haven't yet seen a picture of the these that gives a true feel on the truck IMHO. I'll reserve judgement until then.

That being said, I'm not ruling one out yet, as I had one on my '93 that I adored, although I'm not looking forward to shelling out a pile of cash for the upgraded front suspension to handle it.

I was under the impression that an upgraded suspension is not required. I was planning on doing a leveling kit to account for the weight and they run about 150.
If I am wrong please let me know.

    I checked Certifit, no 2012s
    I found this
    toyo_99147bab81d8ab798af1cb976574bdb4af9e0305.jpg

I guess the part needed is #1?
If so the primed and unpainted OEM part is $187.40 from
    http://www.toyotapartsales.com/part...eid=1502961&diagram=8512017&diagramCallOut=10

Why wouldn't ARB simply include a pre-cut piece of plastic that could be paint matched or left black? this seems so simple to me as the cost to them would be next to nothing and the bumper already cost $999.99.

If someone who has connections to plastic manufactures could make the pre-cut piece and sell them below 100.00 they could really help out here.

^Amen to that. I just can't see ruining a perfectly good bumper with fogs by cutting the top part off. I'm happy as all get out about Kaymar offering a rear bumper but pissed I'd have to cut my front bumper in order to get the ARB to work.

really? thats the best they could come up with? the decision to do it that way definitely a way to save them money at the expense of the customers truck. I will definitely be going with a bumper made by one of the guys on this site.

    You are wrong

OME 886 coils were designed to be paired with the ARB bumper and a winch

OZ-T, so you are saying that I need the 886 coils? What coils come on a 2012 DC TRD off road? Is that all that is needed or is there a kit that will also be needed?

The OME 885 coils are designed for an additional 0-110 lbs of front weight , the OME 886 coils are designed for an additional 110-220 lbs of front weight and were designed specifically for use with the ARB bumper and a winch

    http://www.arbusa.com/uploads/PDF/accessorizeYourRig/toyotaTacoma.pdf

There are other combos of suspension components that will accomidate the additional weight of an ARB , but OEM coils and spacers wouldn't be the best choice

i can attest to this, I'm using 886 coils with the ARB on my 06, wouldn't do it any other way

Yeah....I would say that's the piece you need. The other problem is shipping...figure another $60 to ship due to size.

I checked RockAuto and you can save $40 off the OEM price, and it's not OEM. I'd prefer an unpainted cover over hacking up my OEM piece.

If someone made a custom piece, I bet you could have someone fab up a plastic piece that looks better than the cut OEM bumper...but who knows.

That will NEVER happen. The cost of a mold that large is many 10's of thousands (probably well over $50k). The're aren't enough people interested to get the price low enough.

I guess I'll get an aftermarket bumper to cut up. Ill tell the body shop to only paint the top half.:D
