I had an ARB bumper installed last year and since have been having issues with the bumper vibrating against the quarter panel on both the drivers and passenger side, especially when driving over wash-boarded roads (which is daily in my commute). There is clearly wear marks on both the bumper and the panel from this. Overall, it seems that the bumper vibrates out of phase with the rest of the truck over these bumps. I've had the shop that installed the bumper re-torque the installation bolts and the results were the same. Has anyone else experienced this issue? Do you notice that your ARB bumper seems loose? If so, did you fix it? how?
    Thanks,
    PD

You want the bumper to move some. Mine moved some but never rubbed against the truck. You must have not left the required amount of gap between bumper and the front flare. I don't think there is much you can do.

Is the amount of gap adjustable when installing the bumper?

Good to know. I suppose the shop that installed the bumper could make this adjustment...

Yes, they should be able to, its not really hard to do. You and a buddy could probably do it yourself too.

Mine vibrates, and yes you want a 1/4" gap or so.

I always leave a lot of room between bumpers and body panels. Bumpers flex a lot relative to body parts. Impacts produce the worst flexing, but jacking, winching, and other operations will cause them to flex too. I leave a minimum of 1/2" clearance. In the front I like over and inch. My ARB doesn't vibrate, rattle, or contact at all.

As stated, there is adjustment in the ARB designed to achieve these gaps.

I need to adjust mine, the flares sit on the bumper, and the bumper dented my fender. :anonymous:
