You are underestimating the weight of a 1st gen. Bone stock xcab weighs in at ~3600-3700 lbs. One decked out with all the goodies can easily tip the scales at 4500 or more. Not sayin Lisas weighs that much but its much more than 3100 lbs.

And I would guess you are in the 4500-4800 lbs range empty bed but with rack and RTT. Fully loaded for camping probably exceed 5K.

I weighed ~4700 right before we loaded it on the trailer. That is with an empty gas tank.

 

I think Ben will back me up..you said several time you weren't going to do Lander. I am glad you are now tho.

I still don't understand why 2nd gens are so much heavier. I know we are bigger, but shit out bed isn't even made of metal along with who knows how many other things.

 

Bigger motor and tranny. And the width.

 

Yeah, when you are loaded up with everything I think you are getting close. I do have the winch and BBs and not sure how much my canopy weighs but its gotta be less than your rack and RTT.

And I never said anything about being afraid to do Lander. I might have said it was far away and not willing to do it for that reason. I've seen your pics and I know pics never do full justice to how dificult something can be but I've done my share of dificult trails. You hardcore guys (you know who I mean) love to jump on anyone who hesitates to put their truck in harms way. Like somehow it is un manly.

And the guy with the other red truck in the other thread is a fool and a snake and is only looking to brag.

 

Motors don't really weigh much different in comparison to how much heavier the whole vehicle than the motor, especially comparing a V6 to a V6. Not sure about the tranny weights, although autos tend to be a lot heavier than manuals, but mike has an auto as well. I guess I am also a double cab as well though.

True I'm positive I have more weight out back. The rack is a good 100lbs without the roof part and 112 for tent..my rear bumper is way heavier plus full size tire and gas can.

No skids or winch though..yet...ha

 

Double cab adds a ton. And it's a bigger motor..it weights more. But the truck is just bigger in every way..that adds up fast

I have a set of 17x8s I might consider parting with. Tho, they don't have a lot of backspacing like you like. I also have a set of 2nd gen sport wheels (17x7.5) that I would make a very good deal on. They have even less BS.
