We are doing electrical upgrades next year and the new code will requiem me to hard wire my detectors. Not a bad thing to have. I am good with replacing the batteries but there is another level of safety with the hardwire.

Hard wire with a battery back up is fine. It's code in some areas. I just have battery smoke and co. Mine pick up smoke and products of combustion on a battery.

Nice man. welding is a great skill to have.

On another note. I'm just wrapping up my stay here in NZ. Only issue was I ripped the crotch of my jeans the first day....and they were the only pants I brought.

Went for a tramp a few days ago to a hut in the fjordlands. If you've ever seen lord of the rings (I'm assuming everyone here has) then that pretty much sums up what NZ looks like. The hut we stayed in would hardy be considered backpacking. It had running water, flushing toilets, gas stoves, and mattress pads on all the bunks. The trail was also a meter wide smooth gravel path. Also I hiked 14km barefoot. It was inspired by frodo.

They're sheep everywhere down here. Literally. I don't think there is a km of highway that isn't cutting through someones sheep farm.

In Arizona very likely. There are a lot of stray cats. I came out of a restaurant to our rental car and heard a cat meow. Popped the hood and there was a kitten on the manifold keeping warm. And this was on a full sized SUV. It had crawled all the way up there. Welll needless to say it was farrel and did not want me to touch it. I grabbed it fast and put it on the ground and it took off fast.
    Nice!

Is he of an adult age? It's not a moving violation, why are you going to court for him? As far as I'm concerned you're a responsible driver and presume he and any other passengers had themselves secured by a fastened seat belt, no?

Yeah the reason we got pulled over is because the same friend that was in the car was being a damn idiot and chucked something at some DB driver. Cop was right behind. Cop noticed he didn't have his seatbelt on and only have me a ticket for that I guess
