this is starting to piss me off... im changing the clutch in my 95 taco and i cant get my driveshaft out!.... ive taken all of the bolts out of the flanges on each end....in theory it should just fall...but no! it wont budge... ive tried rapping on it with my BFH... ive tried putting a jack under it and jacking it up... ive even tried spinning the tire as fast as i can and having the old lady sit in the cab and dump the clutch while im spinning the tire.... it just wont come out.... is there something im missing or what?

does a standard cab have a carrier bearing?? if not and you have truly tried everything you can think of.. maybe start the truck and try and take off with the parking brake set... torque of the motor should pop it loose... just be prepared to hear a big bang when it hits the ground.. :D

yea i know... redneck solution. but ya gotta be inventive sometimes!

well i got it out... turns out its pretty much a 2 person job.... my father helped me after he got out of church.... he got the ol chisel out and sharpened it up and after a few rapps with the bfh it came out.... well anyhow... the driveshaft was the least of our problems... we got the tranny out and removed the clutch components and we couldnt get the bearing out for nothing.... we tried the whole packing it with grease and using a bolt and hammer to force it out... well it was a no go.... the bearing was dry and had no seal on the front or back so the grease was just shooting out between the little "bb's"....and its sunday and the local hardware store was not open and we didnt have the right puller so it took about 4 hours to get the damn thing out... i dont know how he did it but he finally got it... so by then he was tired(he is old) and was done for the night so the tranny will sit on the garage floor till he gets off work tomorrow....

so here after bit ill go back out and clean my flywheel and put the new clutch kit in....

btw the old clutchplate was shot.... not much left of it....
