Sup everyone...Man, I've been searching all over and have come to the conclusion that fluttering (annoying) sound on my 05' Taco is normal I guess. Any of you guys have that noise when accelerating?

Man, it's terrible. I hate it but I've read that it's normal. It sounds like an exhaust leak or gasket or something.

Does it happen everytime you accelerate? Wether you barely touch it or floor it.

I dOnt know how to explain it very good. It's coming from the driver side of the engine bay. Sound like a gasket/exhaust leak. When I start to roll and pRess the gas It begins and continues. I've googled it and read stuff about it...prior thinking it's the headers, intake, exhaust, injectors, etc But all I've found is that it's normal...i even tried this lol but it didn't work

It's normal. Some say it's the injectors... Sounds like a light ticking/fluttering as you're accelerating. I can hear it over my exhaust too when the music is down. You can hear it especially well if you accelerate next to a long flat wall for a distance.

I will agree though I wish their was a fix for it...

Your Taco is boss man. Are those just BHLM's? Yeah, i thought at first it was my valve cover gaskets..did that, nothing. Then I just put an exhaust thinking maybe it was somewhere there but yeah, nothing. Then i did a whole service and yeah, nothing. Most say its some kinda valve or something to do with the injectors but i call BS. There has to be something that can be done..

FYI in the Lexus circuit they had this issue and it was due to carbon build up.

Visiting my hangout I see. Depending on your description, there have been 4 causes of a similar noise. One is in the link you posted. The second would be the TSB for the air intake going into the fender where you can apply foam yourself (most usually think this sound is on the driver's side). A third source was the little rubber strip on top of the radiator. And the fourth is excessive ticking through the valve covers (I think they also have a TSB on that one too).

Jay, I just ordered all the insert parts for $ 139.00 on OEMparts123.com. It seemed like they had the best deals. You would need the Buldge,Guide, and Plate
