Sad Sad day for any true Star Wars Fan

Hire a writer and start with a Knights of the Old Republic movie.Then starting with episode 8 and 9 pull a Godfather 2 and make a movie that takes place in the future and the past.

 

Disney bought a cash cow, IMO. Frankly, with the built-in massive fan base, they can make a SW movie with Tony Danza as Luke Skywalker & make money. They keep it quiet, build the suspense, promote the hell out of it, then drop it on a holiday weekend, and peeps will go in droves. Then they realize 'we paid $12 to see tony danza as luke- WTF?"
Then wait 5 years, repeat process. This time- as the wise Yoda, Mike Myers!

Well, here's my question: does Disney have the rights to merchandise? (That's how Lucas changed Hollywood and made a killing!) I'm guessing he still has SOME of those rights.

for $4 billion dollars, I don't think he has rights to any of it besides getting his name plastered as the creator

I wonder if Disney will get access to his secret original film of Empire Strikes Back that was "lost" and provided the hall of fame with a "copy"

I'd be curious to see what they will do with Indiana Jones, though. Crystal Skull was terrible (thanks, Shia!), and I wouldn't expect Temple of Doom, but just darned curious. Again, Lucas screwed Eps I-III, so I'm not adverse to VII-IX.

 

Maybe they'll open up a "Star Wars Land" next to the Magic Kingdom or do a good Boba Fett spin off....

This skill had been lost to the Jedi for a long time, but would be passed down in the new Jedi Order founded by Luke Skywalker. Some Jedi could even manipulate their bodies after death. So the topics and casting for the future will be interesting.
When Empire was released, the fan rumor was that Lucas intended to complete the IV-V-VI trilogy, go back and make I-II-III, then return to make the final VII-IIX-IX using the original cast, as they would have aged properly to play their original roles.

Of course, that went out the door with the actors being "done" and various personal problems.
The only word from Lucas was that he "needed" to write the back-story to support the original, and had no intention to continue beyond "Jedi"

 

I hope the next Star Wars is nitty and gritty like episode V. I want to be able to feel the pain and suffering and the hate running through me.
