The shorter the better to me. I like quick little movements for slamming gears.

Yeah 6 seized bolts and wiring harness. Make sure you soak the bolts because you can break off the nuts inside the channel, which are impossible to access. I'm not saying I did... I'm saying ONE might do that to 2 of their bolts and have to cut them off with a torch and then wonder how they will bolt their bed back on. Hypothetically.:D

So what's the reasoning for deadening sound? Are you keeping sound out? Are you keeping sound in to help with sound system performance?

I like hearing what's going on with the truck so I guess it's never really been a concern of mine. But I like the idea of replacing my carpet with raptor liner.

Yep, removing auto trans from a 1st gen always a crowd favorite !! (what a pain in the ass) I was going to comment on you not marking the driveline/flange bolt up so it goes back in the way it came out but since you're doing a swap its a non factor I guess.. good luck with swap & good pics ya got up too....

Bevel the edges. Even with thicker plate you should be getting some penetration, but if you bevel the edges/edge you cab get full pen, depending on what type of joint.

    Sick Pictures, SafetyDang! ^^^

Installed a black grill I got from Rockauto for 35 plus shipping. I'm not a big fan of chrome so the chrome grill had to go. Waiting on corner lights with black bezels to come in the mail.

    Look at build!
So far it's been worth it! I too didn't do it for deadening reasons but because my carpet was so filthy that I wanted to pull it to be cleaned and figured while I was there I'd do it and make it easier to clean with the hose! The best part about it imo is the heat on the trans hump practically disappears & the comments from the jeep guys that want to do theirs now! Plus once all the paneling goes back up I think it will help with that back wall noise a lot more too

I just want to cut the road noise down for phone calls (my job now requires me to be on the phone a lot... hence the new head unit, got the same one you did) and increase the performance of the new speakers.

Trust me, I'll still be able to hear everything with the truck. It's not going to be a Bentley's interior.
