I seen 6 this morning, 4 does with a fawn and a spike. Also think the neighbor hit a bobcat. Heard it start screaming down near where he hunts at.. We both hunt near the property line bout 250 yards apart. so I can usually tell when he's huntin.

They moved lastnight. Saw a lot in the fields on my way home around 430. Saturday should be a good day. I'm hoping for my son to see something out of the stand. It's his first year archery hunting. If he has one walk under him he'll shake apart!

I passed on a 120" 10 last saturday..... Not by choice though. I am in an urban hunt for a nearby town, and their rules are that you have to take 2 does before you earn a buck, then 3 more does before your second one. (yes, they have a problem!) I did not have either of my 2 does then, but after the buck left, a doe came in and I got another doe on tuesday. Let him come back now! I watched him at 25 yards for 15-20 minutes. FYI, a 120" buck is pretty respectable for me and our area. I would take a buck that size all day long here, but midwest..... I think he would walk every time. The rut is kicking in here pretty fast. One way we guage it is when you start seeing dedead deer along the interstates. The other way is being in the woods as much as possible.

It was a little guy. I haven't even seen a buck this year. First one I see is hittin the ground. That was kinda the situation here, too. Hard to find a buck this year because of all the acorns. If he didn't take this deer, the next person that saw him would have

^. No. More people that believe the neighbor will kill him if I don't just aid to the young deer only problem. Only way to kill a big deer is to let them walk.

Ever killed a big 1.5 year old buck. Ever killed a small 5 year old buck.

Every man has the right to kill what he wants. But we as sportsman should control the heard by killing does and being selective on the bucks we kill.

If it comes down to the end of the season and haven't put meat in the freezer yet ill shoot whatever the hell I want. Even if people think its not "sportsman like"

Agreed that harvesting younger bucks does not help the population, unless it is over populated but all i'm saying is that if you're only hunting say 100 acres then you can't control what goes on across the border. Knowing what your neighbors harvest helps alot.

Eh, I haven't put anythig on the ground yet, so the first one that walks out with horns will hit the ground. Tell me I'm not a sportsman, whatever. I don't care. I'm in it for the meat, not the horns. A big buck just means spendin hundreds of dollars to get it mounted. Would I LIKE to kill a monster buck? Of course. But, either way, I won't eat the horns
