I don't have any issues with mine from a ride quality standpoint. Granted, I don't know anything else on the truck yet and I haven't driven in inclement weather either, but as a street tire I'm not complaining.

I would like to get something slightly more aggressive in the future. But for the first scheduled maintenance or so, I'll by babying my new girl :p

I've got 36K on mine. Will get some new tires probably next spring sometime.

I can (and do un-intentionally) spin the tires when starting on wet roads - mainly with no weight in the bed.

I found them a little squirmy on wet roads off the start as well. The wet slushy snow we get here on the east cost would cause me issues this winter, the stocks do not have a lot of bite.

After thinking about it long and hard I decided to switch them out with a set of bfg at. Shore-footed is the best way to describe how the truck feels now. Plus it's a new truck, worth the money to change them to protect the investment IMO.

Going to sell the dunlops at a good price, they only had 1600km on them.
Will make someone a good tire, just not for me.

I made it about 1000 miles on them. Removed them and told the tire shop to take them. Guy was shocked, but I knew better then to waste my time to keep/sell them. Garbage on the highway in rain. Almost had a few accidents. I had the new tires and wheels put on and the TPMS placed in the canister. All better now going on 26,000.

^^^^sounds about like my experience. Those Dunlops slide all over the place. The GY Wrangler M+S's I replaced them with do not slip at all.

Having lost control of several vehicles due to stupidity or bad conditions, I am a huge fan of great tires, the Dunlops just don't do it for me.

Sell your stock wheels/tires and purchase another set from someone on TW or Craigslist with better tires.
I did that after 1k miles on those Dunlops. Traction is terrible even on pavement.

Jimmy thinks you are all ignorant , he has had no issues mushing through the deep tundra of South Carolina in his Prerunner , therefore your issues and opinions are invalid

Jimmy can thinks whatever he wants, my advice is to get some real tires instead of pushing the limits of the Dunlops and possibly putting people at risk in the process.

I have 41k on my Dunlops. I haven't had any issues with them just driving around town. They might have 10k left on them before I replace them with Toyo Open Country 265 70 17's wrapped around 17x9 XD Series 796.

Just passed 20k on them, and yes they do indeed suck in any kind of inclement weather. If I still had a daily commute they'd be gone.

Yesterday morning I had the rear end spin loose at 45 mph. Road was a little wet and I was getting on it. Hooray for dunlops in the rain. Only tire on the planet that feels like it gets worse traction on water than in snow.

I thought they weren't that bad in the snow. Just all season standard fare. Don't get reckless, stay out of the mountains, and typically no problems. I do like them a lot better than the Rugged Fail 265s. Last year wasn't a bad year but we had a couple days of freezing rain and at least 3 decent lake effect snowfall events that I made it though. The day with deep slushpack on all the roads was especially fun. Four wheel drives only that day.

That said, as soon as my budget allows winter tires, it's going to happen.

Bad snow traction to me is defined by the stock Dunlop all-seasons on the Honda Fit. That was incredibly frightening and an experience you'd have to live to believe. It's not the going that's the problem - it's the stopping.

I don't have snow here in South Carolina. I was talking about the comment of spinning in wet conditions.

Some have tried them in snow and they seemed to work fine for them.

You have established that You don't like them. That is fine. However just because You don't like them doesn't mean that they are garbage. They do what they are designed to do. And work for most normal drivers on the road, that is why Toyota installs them from the factory.

No they aren't snow or off road tires. Nobody ever claimed that they were.

    God quit whining.

    Whine ? Me ?

    Never

Why aren't you trying to correct everybody else's opinion that thinks they suck ?

    Surely they are wrong too

Comparing all terrain tires to all weather tires is like comparing a Tractor to a Volkswagen.

    It makes no sense.
