    Install Question:

Do the DS2's require any cutting of the reflector bowl itself to put them in? I've read that the H1's are smaller in diameter and fit with no modding but haven't heard or seen any installs with the DS2's.

Awesome! thats what I wanted to hear. How about horizontal alignment... did the adapter plates work as well as the TRS description lead on?

yup, works pretty well. but it would best of you to do the alignment before you seal em up. when you do seal em up, seal em up well so you don't get leaks and moisture in there. take your time man. this was my first retro

It'll be a big time improvement from the stock halogens. You'll love seeing that cut off line. It projects a better beam of light, then what you see with halogens or HID's.

I went with the Gatling gun shroud. It fills up that big reflector bowl pretty well. went with 6000K-pure white, and it has that blue-ish tinge. I don't think it's over kill, it looks pretty nice. Like what you see with BMW or Mercs.

So you're gonna go with the D2S kit?

Thought I would be satisfied with a cosmetic upgrade and just do the BLHM, but now I actually want better performance out of them. haha. should have just done this from the start.

I do a lot of middle-of-nowhere night driving so the D2S should be the better match for me... and I like how the bulbs actually thread on instead of having to make a silicone seal for the rubber gasket with the H1s. (I've been battling condensation problems with a set of ebay lights)

The D2S kit 4300K with the Gatling or the Orbit and possibly amber LED halo's (??) should do me well.

before doing the retro I did a lot of thread reading, and gathering info before doing the initial mod. TRS, HIDPlanet and TW is a lot of help with question or trouble shooting problems you might run into.

That should be a good set up

Nice looking retro man! the 6000k's arent too blue for you? Would you be able to post some night pics of the full light output (not just on a wall)?

Did you buy the 50w or 35w? What is the difference? Is there pictures of the different shrouds somewhere? Thanks

I used an unused 35W ballast from an HID kit. check out TheRetrofitSource.
