Looking to buy 05-09 Sport, issues to look for??

I'm in the market for an 05-09 double cab sport 4x4. Are there any known problems or issues that I should be on the lookout for when searching for one?? Any help would be great.

 

Early models seemed to have engine mount issues and weak tailgate issues.

Both of which seemed to be fixed by 2007. I would start there.

2009+ sports have LED tails, new traction control systems(see the sticky) iPod input and a backup camera.

 

09+ Adds a ton of stuff for not alot of money. Im sold on the traction control and the side airbags.

 

Thanks guys. Is the traction control that noticeable and does it come on all 2009 models?

 

If you are a daily driver, VSC and the rear view camera make the 09+ worth it, IMO.

 

Yeah, a back up camera for people who don't know how to park a big truck

 

Actually, the back up cam does very little for parking. Where is really beneficial is hooking up to a trailer or backing up. The side mirrors are easier to using when backing into a parking space to park. The cam just helps you from hitting something.
