It's one in the same. The tech isn't there. You need lots and lots of money to develop the tech. Who is going to front you the money to develop said tech? When you do, why would anyone spend the outrageous amounts of money needed to recoup costs on said tech?

Unless the advantages are insane over ICEs (which they're not) they won't sell, they're not viable. Or until the cost to drive modern ICEs becomes so much that this tech is cheaper, they won't sell. This is what the eco fucks are after.

 

Oklahoma State made an electric Tundra about 6-7 years ago, it was maroon in color and they cut about 2 feet out of the center (hot dog not hamburger style). Saw it when I was there for a machining contest in high school. Just looked for it on google, couldn't find anything.

 

They are probably using big gas generators out in the desert to charge it anyway haha

That's the thing with battery or hydrogen powered vehicles.

Hydrogen and batteries are not energy sources... they are not true fuels, they are simply energy transport media.
Both take more energy to produce/charge than you get from them.

Mixed blessing... the energy conversion carries a loss of efficiency, but you are no longer tied to a mobile energy source such as fossil fuels.
Nuclear power... if it can get past the eco-kook obstructionists... can provide plenty of cheap, clean power to produce all the hydrogen and charge all the batteries you want.

 

Lol. I take it you aren't very familiar with nuclear power?

 

Seems to work just fine for the majority of the world that has evolved beyond coal.
