Clutch pedal travel adjustment directions needed

My dealer and I have a disagreement on clutch pedal adjustment and specifications. He says it can't be adjusted....... I know better. I have specs for 05-06 but my truck is a Taco 09 Reg cab, 2WD, 5 speed manual trans. I need a copy of 08-09 directions from shop manual and specs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alot of hydraulic clutchs are not adjustable. Im not saying that the taco is or is not.

 

I understand what your saying although Toyota's 05-06 manual shows a adjustment procedure in depth. I just need current info on 09's to validate things. I don't believe a change has taken place since 06 although I'm not 100% sure.

The local dealer here told me flat out that it was a PITA. They probably just don't want to do it.

 

The instructions don't look that difficult to me but it may very well be a PITA, I'm really not sure. At $80-90.00 an hour you'd think they could figure it out though. I have driven several new Tacomas and have noticed a variation in pedal travel.

I could use these too. Ever since I had my clutch pedal assembly replaced, I've found that the pedal sits too high. I could take it to the dealer and have them fix it, but that's kind of a PITA, so if it's something I could do myself, I'd rather do it.

Nah, but it can never be reiterated often enough, LOL. Especially on shit as limp as no clutch adj even tho right there in the srvc manual.

 

Funny in an ass sucking time wasting we don't know shit but we'll talk shit & fake it for you sort of way.

 

And I even have it in writing on paperwork......
I'm not sure I want to have them adjust it now that I'm aware of their position on this. I will probably just do the job myself, Was hoping to avoid this with two blown discs in my back.

I did exactly that and they stated everything was in spec. I've driven it for a year and tried another dealer w/ Master Toyota Tech.....Same deal, in fact when I picked the truck up he said there wasn't any adjustment left for that. I showed him the third step in SM on HIS computer where clutch take-up is adjusted, he stood there w/ blank look on his face.........evidently he did not roll down to the third step!

Perhaps someone can clear this up for me, If you adjust the pedal height to the minimal setting of 6.63" which is about .375 less my existing pedal height, will it also cause the clutch take up to be closer to the floor? Seems like it would.

I honestly feel these trucks would drive a lot better with clutch take-up closer to floor. The combination of poor seating position, throttle by wire and high clutch take-up really makes driving the truck a less than smooth procedure. I would love to crawl under there and adjust this correctly although w/ my back so screwed up they would probably have to bury me in this position!
