You're not exactly thread jacking, this is just the Wisconsin thread.

Jonathan, I'll get back to you tomorrow on what part we were in. There were a lot of other people on the trail. I think it was the "north end" of it. I'm not sure, I hadn't been there before. Nathan looked up the maps so I'll talk to him about it.

I know there was something mentioned about that the trail closes on October 31, seasonally. But that may have been McCaslin...

Most if not all of 55552 is open through mid March. Only sections of trails that close on Oct 31 are only open to vehicles 50" or less

from what I was told the whole thing was shut down. anyone going there would be getting a tresspassing ticket but to be real Im willing to risk it. a couple buddies were there a month ago in FJ's and said there wasnt a soul in sight for miles. and Im thinking about buying a 2nd gen I think whichever is a 2006 lol, Ive had a toyota 4runner 1998 limited for 4 years and i had to sell it. I had way too many problems with it to keep dumping money into it, so now Im trying to buy a tacoma. Ive always loved these beasts besides the stupid mud flaps omg how I hate them anyhoo yeah Im kinda lurking in this thread to see what types of things I need to lookout for and what I need to be aware of. :mudding:

The Jeeps in the photo went thru in front of us but decided to stay and watch us go up. There were definitely a lot of other people out there. All Jeeps, and a Hummer.

I like popping in on the WI guys every once and a while :) I grew up in Eau Claire WI in the boonies and went to school in Duluth, MN. I just moved to WY 6 months ago... Bit more wheeling opportunity here :D Sorry 45ACP I know your butthurt about leaving WY, you'll be back one day right!? There are some nice trails near the pipeline area and in the chequamegan natl forest, you just have to look around and ask the locals. There is more opportunity in northern MN though, sad but true...

If I am going to be back in WI during wheeling season I'll make sure to contact you guys!

Just got back from the pipe line today, too bad we couldn't get our acts together and make a trip up there. It was pretty fun. About the closures...there are definitely spots on the trail that have been closed off with a big steel gate. However around the gates and just snow fences which have been obviously just been drove over in the past. I didn't do that because I need to stay on the good side of the law. There is also another gate/fence blocking off part of the trail by some private property owners. But on one of my excursions through the trail system I managed to come up on the opposite side of that gate via trails that were not closed off so IDK what the point of that one gate is. When I realized I was on the other side of it I was treading lightly just due to the fact I had no idea if it was actually private property or not, I guess if it was there should have been no trespassing signs. All in all it was a pretty fun day for just going by myself. I think like Johnathon said in his PM to me that it would be much more fun with a little bit of snow on the ground.

Here are a few pictures I got today

Well I'll be around next weekend too

And at least you'll have really good wheeling out there over Thanksgiving! That's some beautiful country out there.
