I found your thread and have read through it all the last couple of days.
Fantastic work man, I love your rig. The first page of pics are really good.

I am in the planning process for my first rig and have been thinking about how good it would be to have air on board. Your set up is legit. MFW I saw the bumper connections and water can I have many ideas now

What's it like wheeling with the LT front? Obviously awesome on sand/dunes ect, but for crawling/trails are there any benefits or disadvantages? There are a few people on here now doing the whole 4x4 LT thang and I've been curious (especially since you've had both).

Here are a few things I have observed with this setup when doing the slow stuff.

-Articulation is good but I dont think I am getting the 11.5-12" of travel mainly due to my tires hitting the inside of the upper fender well and the large timbren bump stops. Obviously not as good as a solid axle setup but I wanted a happy medium as I do the whole range of offroading.

The rear end needs to be modified more to match the performance of the front but for now I am satisfied as I dont jump this truck or haul ass through bumps. The rear timbrens do need to be changed out as they do produce alot of bounce. I may be switching to the All-Pro expo springs to get a little more height in the back. I literally have maybe 1.5" until the frame hits the bumpstops.

I did a bunch of modifications at once so it is hard to tell which modification has helped the most. I can say that with the LT (and I would almost call it a longer mid travel setup since it is about 11.5" of travel) and the 35 inch tires that I am attempting stuff that I know I would not have made it through before.

Overall, I am very pleased that I went with the Total Chaos kit over the All-Pro kit. I will say that if you are able to fit some fiberglass fenders then go ahead and do it. I did alot of modification to my fenders to fit the 35's and I am still not done with them yet.

 

Amazing truck man, great inspiration for my mod list. Hopefully someday my truck will look half as nice as yours

reasons like this are why i am keeping my tires around the same size...as much as i want 35s, i don't have the resources needed to properly fit them and gain full capabilities

$$ for wheels with more BS & $$ for 35s & i'd like to have resized flares which cost $$....plus the LT setups seem to be the proper way to go with larger tires

then i'd still have to cut more of my ARB, then beat the firewall, cut more cab mount and trim the sliders back a bit

 

great idea with the pressurized water. I might just have to do that....I do have a scepter can sitting around. I'm planning to go 35's myself. Don't know what I want to do with the front end. ( keep it MT or go LT ) Keep up the good work, will be looking at your great ideas for my future projects!

 

hey wat size bfg did you used to have mounted under your bed?

wat did you have to trim to get that to fit under there? cause i have a nitto terra grappler in 285/70/17 that i want to have as a full size spare now that i got new duratracs

 

I didn't trim anything. When I cranked the tire up, I had to wedge it in there.

 

Just gotta put Vaseline on it first

I have lurking in the TW Moab 2013 trip so I MAY go there. Right now I can't even find a day to go look at houses let alone a week to go to Moab.

 

Hope you can make it, would be cool to meet you in person.
I've already cleared it with the wife and plan to sponsor the meet as well.

 

If I do go, I hope to have my dual battery setup complete and winch installed. I would say that I am a 75% maybe to go.
